Sitting on the launch pad of Bauchinger City in Bava, running the final checklists before Napoleon and I take the "Zenith of Quintessence" on her first real deep space exploration run. The first goal is the Dryaa Flyuae neutron fields near the core. After that we plan on visiting Jaques Station before setting course back to inhabited space. Napoleon mentioned the fact that he wants to visit the Core, but I've postponed it so far, although who knows. Maybe we'll swing by after all. Should make for some scenic vistas and beautiful vanity shots.
This is, as mentioned, our first deep space run together. I've made a few 6000 LY runs alone in my old ASP, but never anything this far. At least we'll have the pleasure of eachother's company, along with a few newly transferred staff members to cook and keep maintainence - and, of course, the luxurious interior which only an Imperial Cutter can provide. I suspect we won't grow tired of each other, but if that should happen, we've brought a few fighters and an SRV, if a change of pace is needed.
The sounds of the landing area. I wonder how quickly I'll get used to the black and the quiet.
Here's Napoleon. He brought coffee. It looks like we're ready to go. Provisions secured, goodbyes said. Let's spin up the drives and see what awaits us in the black.
Cmdr. Zinnsei out.
