I can dock fine but like to use the DC as it gives me a break especially when doing trade runs, as others say i look up next route etc

Not new to Elite, but new to INARA. Had an account for ages, but only really been nosing around the site the last few days and love it. Hopefully see some of you CMDR's out there.

Hi, I am CMDR Panknuts. I am somewhat new to the game and a little more new to INARA. Still getting my bearings really though. Finding out where everything is, filling out all the information for my CMDR profile here, finding the forums and subreddits, etc. I play on XB1 but unfortunately my internet is pretty terrible (I live off in'em woods ya see) so I don't pay for a gold subscription, meaning no open play for me...aka yes I play in solo, please don't make fun of me. It kind of sucks, seeing youtube videos and reading threads about all the cool wing ups and stuff but oh well. I do still enjoy the game and the community and how everything seems to unfold. I started playing about 3 weeks ago I guess? Seems like I came into the game at a good time, right after 2.2, and 2.3 seems like its going to be great. Not to mention the happenings with Thargoid interdictions and all the ancient ruin sites. Anyway, fly safe everyone.

Greetings, fellow Commanders! o7

My name is Eldrich Thames. I've been an independent pilot since December 22, 3300. So far I've dedicated mostly to hauling cargo, spiced with some occasional bounty hunting and exploring. I'm not Elite ranked in any category yet but I'm almost there as a trader.

My current ship is a Python fully equipped for cargo (but with big shields and guns to fend off the pirates). Her name is Greedy Mamba, and while I will have a bigger ship in the future (my current goal being a Federal Corvette to bounty hunt in style), this Python will be forever my sweetheart!

I've also been in the cockpit of a Sidewinder, an Adder, a Cobra Mk. III, an Asp Explorer and a Federal Assault Ship.

I created my Inara profile a few months ago to keep track of my progress, but it was recently that I decided to write about my adventures for posterity. Feel free to read my log entries, and give your comments and suggestions to make my future entries better!

((I've also set up the in-character Instagram account @cmdr_eldrich_thames to share a visual record of my travels that serve to complement my Inara logbook entries; I also share news and information about the Galaxy, always in-character of course! Feel free to check it out!))

Honored to be part of this great community. Fly safe, Commanders! o7

Anna ReidThere is no excuse to use a docking computer. Ever. If I can dock a Type ship without one, you can dock a beluga without one.

On an unrelated note, welcome new commanders! We practice Thing making, RP and needless internet shitfitting here. If you like any of those things, all of them, or a combination, you should fit right in around here!

Docking computers were invented so you could a, put the kettle on b, pour a stiff drink or c, get a cold one from the fridge

Kyla EmmerichDocking computers are useless for someone who needs to dock pretty quickly before the prying eyes of the law can take a peek in their hold. I'd rather take a few extra seconds at the control than risk being scanned by some Fed grunt.

I disagree Kyla, I regularly have a need to slip past the fuzz but still use a dock comp. I don't engage it unitl i'm in the station.

and most importantly, d. make room for each of the above.

Also, love your Hong Kong Phooey and his book of Kung Fu avatar. Haven't seen him since I was a kid.

Saw a FDL with one on the other day, I was in such a shock not knowing whether to blow him up for that insult to that wonderful ship, or cry. It was so saddening. He was in a combat zone too. I mean how can you do that to that ship!

I often look like HKP, lots of head scratching but without the mask and bath robe and rather than a book of Hong Kong Kung Foo I have a south of UK book of Tai Chi Chuan.
I do think naming your Cobra Howard Marx is very fitting.
