hmm I didnt think of it like that. i mean if there are shift workers why wouldnt there be shift overseers

I gave the slave overseer a name (Garth), but I haven't named anyone in Citi management.

Oh, there is the old lady that runs a tea and cake kiosk on the pilots market Mrs Fillworth. She's been important background colour for Creamy since the start of his adventures on Citi

Because either the proletariat has managed to wrest control from their weak overseer or because the overseer is lazy and corrupt. These are the primary reasons workers fail to meet production goals set by the Inner Party in order to achieve the Party's glorious vision. No matter the reason, the overseer obviously needs re-education as do a few of the workers.

Thank you for the information pertaining to this particular question. I shall keep the shift overseer anonymous unless we all want to give them a name.

No ulterior motives behind the announcement for the "Event" just Silvia's way of offering thanks for the workers putting in the hard work.

Just to clarify Kira mentioned the weapons rack. The weapons rack is behind a closed door in a room in the back. Unless she had been back there she wouldn't know it existed or if she maybe saw it through the door when it was opened that is one thing. But currently the setting of the bar I don't think has a weapons rack.

Good to know. I either missed that mention or it wasn’t in that post(given the time of day here, I’m going to say option 1 seems more likely).

It was there but it is kind of easy to misinterpret. Not a big deal. Just thought you should know.

Well I just changed the post to make it a bag that just happens to conveniently be placed behind the bar. It’s open and empty, so if it was forgotten there or something else is open to interpretation…

(If Melli is left alone with a bunch of toys and food, I would rather not be the one to find the chaos in that back room later. Might that not also get noisy back there?)

Think of an animal like a savannah cat at an F2 stage so second generation hybrid and you have how Melli would act. Still has the wild side but is considered domesticated. And because she is a fox can be trained much like how a dog would be. The toys and food would be similar to how a cat would be with toys and food.

And I know cats love to go crazy with toys. I’ve known a couple and when they have their so-called ‘five minutes’, you had better not be in the way.

And who knows. Sometimes animals get naughty when left to their own devices with toys. I just need to point to the example of one of our current dogs who will tear them apart and/or pull out the stuffing when left alone with it.

Yes I am aware but that is the point an animal needs to let out that pent up energy. Which is why Silvia seems very unfazed by the thought of leaving Melli alone. Also there was one thing that Silvia mentioned once before. Basically once Melli is in a "private space" it becomes her space and Silvia is allowed to share the space.

Sounds like a cat and its human servants. Only at a more intelligent/more evolved(?) level.

And with some claws if it can shred a bed.

More intelligent due to the neural implant. Which is why she is always seemingly observing the way people are acting. She is learning about humans in a way that makes sense to her. Though she is limited in that intelligence. She has moral dilemmas such as the incident with Kira and biting her hand because she was told to watch her but her Handler was in trouble.

And she also apparently doesn’t seem to like Creamy’s observant and/or cautious nature toward animals very much. Which I suppose makes some sense when most people go “Fuzzy fluffball, must pet it!”.

And you did catch on about my plan. I’d like to keep the conversation going but it’s a bit late, and I also have had this in the back of my mind for a bit and since it’s just us two, I figured I’d get it out of the way now. What Kira was looking for is one of those adrenaline injectors… what do they call the substance in one again? Epinephrine? Something weird like that. For when the implant causes some… issues. Not much use if it was forgotten on the ship, though.
