Meowers...I think you forgot to add a pair of 'final words' and a few 'bottom lines', for more bonus edgy points.

Vasil VasilescuThere are never final words from some individuals. Just more words.

Kasumi GotoUnless you say "Everything will go to plan" and those are your famous last words* before everything, in fact, does not go to plan, at all.

*The last ones people will remember of you, anyway.

Well, as I said earlier, such posts (you are reacting to) will be removed and it also may be considered as "famous last words" in the future, if such behavior won't stop. It's better to just ignore it.

I generally do. And have also made use of a certain feature which makes me not have to see them.

… but some appear to get some entertainment out of seeing whatever is being said. Or, from the sounds of it, (still) not said. Anyway, leaving it there unless prompted further.

Allow me to be pissed off at Elite’s lack of functional coding where just because some guy’s wifi connection works as well as Fallout 76 did on launch, it suddenly forgets to give you warnings for shutdown pulses from a Thargoid.

And to not take a “rebuy” because I am “dead” due to your idiotic fucking lack of technical functionality, game. If there is one thing that I cannot stand at all it is bullshit nonsense which you have no control over as a player, and this is one. It also makes me want to A- throw something out of or through a window, B- immediately stop playing that idiotic shit which does not work and is needlessly shitting on an otherwise fine mood and day, C- send a strongly worded letter to the support team about that unwarranted nonsense, QA, and whoever originally designed that shitty netcode which literally breaks (other) game code into not working.

I still want to throw something at somewhere.

I noticed it too, it comes and goes but I doubt it is poor coding. It is something to do with connection to the servers.

Resolving connectivity issues with minimal harm to users is a part of good coding. Which tend to be terribly absent in some projects...

No so much a rant but a general "I'm pretty sure it does not work that way" physics moment.

In a debris field, why do lasers push away wreckage but not rail guns?

Lasers (particularly beam) send wreckage spinning off into the distance whereas a rail gun just creates pretty fireworks. Not game breaking, but slightly annoying that a beam of light imparts more kinetic energy than a physical projectile travelling at whatever percentage the speed of light the gun accelerates it to.

I suppose the game logic is that the railgun is meant to penetrate armor, so it just goes right through an object. Still, a 1g object travelling at .01c has the equivalent energy of about 1 ton of TNT.

You could ask the same question of why Thargoid ship hulls are perfectly immune to pure kinetic forces (from a railgun projectile) or plasma, which they would have to be actually magical for. I could maybe understand it for some of the “lower” grade weaponry designed to be used against human ships, with their advanced engineering and whatnot, but, yeah.

Then there’s the completely gamey “anti-xeno damage” mechanic which is just… well… you know I’m going to say it’s stupid. So a modified shard cannon which will damage a Hydra perfectly fine suddenly sucks big time against human ship hulls (but not the shields) because it has… a magical damage type and “thermal”. Because shards of a super hardened material shot out at 6 kilometers per second (or 1.13km/s in case of the standard shard cannon) obviously have zero kinetic properties.

Obviously the special-weapons-and mechanics-for-special-targets thing was introduced only to add yet another layer of grind to the game. It's the reason why I never engaged with the game's AX content.
05 Sep 2024, 10:59am
I don’t mind having enemies with some unique gameplay mechanics in regards to how an Interceptor is destroyed, because it sets it apart from the bog-standard and… kind of unexciting, for the most part… standard PvE experience.

But other than what appears to be laziness during the balancing or design process, I don’t see any reason for this magical gamified “AX damage” nonsense to exist. It does do a great job of making the Guardian weapons very undesirable in those non-AX scenarios with exception of the modified plasma charger because it can actually do decent damage to ship hulls, and without constantly sending your ship’s heat level through the roof even not using heatsinks (looking at you, modshards).

… and don’t get me started on how the only Guardian weapon that was actually worth using was the gauss until they added the modified ones. Which some donkeys are still bitching about like they hate fun. (When the issue is actually the absurd spamming of Cyclops to the point where Basilisks and Medusas at the common invasion scenarios - planetary ports and outposts - are almost nonexistent, most of the time)

But, sidetrack. Having people seen use original plasma chargers with that downright awful shot speed, and tried the standard shard cannon which can’t hit the broadside of a barn from the inside… whatever they were thinking when they made those.

Its more like last safe position, got me 250k from target and 100k from target in a row then I went and found another system... getting back to main star is easy anyway, just jump out closest spot and back.

2x escape pods

Or you just come out from a Titan's caustic cloud with a hold full of the pods they use to 'store' humans and somehow the pirates magically know where you are and what you have.

I know it is just a scripted response to "Cargo in ship hold", but FFS Frontier, that's just ridiculously stupid. There is no way those idiots should even know you have anything.

... or "I've come a long way for what's in your hold, don't try to run". Reverse psychology much? And also just annoying.
