Miner WillyThought I might as well take some missions to deliver injured people to rescue ships while getting the hell out of dodge.....

Interdicted mid frame shift just by the thargs. (as per post above I have no anti-Xeno on this ship).
Rather than getting completed obliterated, the damn things fired their version of hatch limpets (foreign object det4ecd) and proceeded to steal the human cargo.

Is this new behaviour or just something I haven't heard of before?

The thargys have been jacking passengers for a while. I've not encountered it, but only because the rescue ship I use is optimized for speed. Overcharged, drag drive engines, enhanced charge power distributor, and four pips to the engines allows for near constant boosting above 500, which keeps me ahead of the goids long enough to jump way.

Thanks, once I got out I transferred my AX KMII for the return trip, a should have done it before leaving Sol.

You got any actual lore context for the reasonsing behind this belief

I want the sauce, I need the sauce

The sauce.

If we put aside roleplay fun, I think the Titan - should it head into Sol directly - will actually park in Earth orbit. I doubt it is to open a diplomacy channel or to establish an embassy, however.

And I still insist we consider the fact that the Thargoids did not outright invade Sol but instead are happy to just poke around and do a bit of sightseeing while the Titan is on its way, as if they're observing, or looking for something. (Could be the gold disk on Voyager, as a few people have theorized, but I'm not entirely sure of that)

And on the subject of Scythes (the Thargoid people stealers) an ECM can take out their hatchbreaker as well as the FSD reboot missiles. But, of course, speed is actually a better defense against them. I don't think the alert state of Sol has any actual meaning except to allow evacuation operations to be conducted, because it might actually only be attacked once the Titan itself arrives. And that is when the real fun madness starts.

(I don't believe that anyone in-universe in Elite is quite prepared for what the Titan is going to be throwing out)

Connor McCallThink the Titan is heading for Sol, Mars due to alien artfacts that where found ages ago might be tied but could be wrong

The Martian Relic, yes.

I'd love it if there was more von Däniken-style storytelling in Elite, establishing some sort of link between Guardians, Thargoids and the origins of mankind. Unfortunately all such attempts never seem to go anywhere, with the Martian Relic being one such example. It was found, no one knows where it came from, The End.

Oh look, Sol invitation. I wonder what they want.

Unfortunately all such attempts never seem to go anywhere, with the Martian Relic being one such example. It was found, no one knows where it came from, The End.

My personal theory about the relic is that it might be some leftover Guardian technology, partly because it is an odd coincidence that the terraforming of Mars - a problematic subject considering the planet's lack of magnetic field - succeeded not long after said relic was found, and its size (about a thumb, if I recall correctly) seems about right for some kind of data storage device.

But I'm not sure that is what the Titan might be heading to Sol for. Unless the Feds have been hiding it all along that they actually found much more than just the small relic on the planet, but hidden beneath the surface.

(It would surprise me that, if the Guardians did discover Sol, they didn't develop some interest in studying the native ecology, and perhaps they were eyeing up Mars before they were wiped clean off the galaxy by their AI. If such information is present within the Guardian network Ram Tah's been quite quiet about it, however.)

Also, unrelated, but did Frontier reduce how visible the Titan flare while it's moving is? Before you could see those things clearly from over a hundred light years away, yet I can't seem to see it now even in the system it passed last night, and the one it is currently heading to. Trying to determine if my stupid game caught a case of bug-itis.

Like Everyone playing now I have received a message of assistance for the evacuation of Sol. I', heading to Shinrarta Dezhra to prep my Cutter then will dock my FC in a system near Sol or Sol itself if possible.

Have fun.

There is a new cannon in the power play that you can unlock. It's called the Concord Cannon. Has a 3 shot in the magazine. Total size 300 rounds in the magazine. I engineered it for a high-capacity magazine (600 rounds) and oversized. Here is a video on YouTube of the Concord cannons in a Mandalay.

Sol AX combat in open mode is now very dangerous. A lot of gankers are out there right now.

Providing the people insisting on the evacuations (could you call them the boredom brigade in this case? maybe ...) don't end up taking out this alert, which has had a few zeroes added to its back end but still seems like it could be borderline possible with enough of an effort thrown at it.

... though Frontier probably have a two week gap to cover while Cocijo takes its leisurely stroll through our space so maybe they'd turn on an invasion in Sol anyway and only have the "alert" to actually provide players to participate in the evacuation effort, rather than just have it be a piece of text in GalNet. Could you even move 22 billion people in a week?

Remaining doubtful about the actual chances which Sol has at survival. Even if certain people are equally adamant that the Titan will be destroyed there despite a few signs that it might have a better than small chance at surviving and causing further terror elsewhere.

Kasumi GotoCould you even move 22 billion people in a week?
A week is 7 days, or 168 hours, or 10080 minutes, or 604800 seconds. That's quite simple.

Population of Sol is 22.78 billion according to the game data. Since Sol is the capital system of the Federation, with the Federation being the sci-fi space version of the US, it should also have 12/333*22.78 = 0.82bn illegal immigrants. Or let's say 2 bn because some of them might be reluctant to show up for the census.

Then I'd like to add, to say, 5 more billion for non-residents who work there, tourists, etc., and to have some reserve in capacity too.

22.78 + 2 + 5 = 29.78 or let's just round it up to 30 billion people. 30 billion people in 604800 seconds. 49603 per second.

The average density of a human body is 985 kg/m3, average human weight is 80kg for modern day North America, so let's say 90kg for the Feds. Influence of smaller people and children on that number should be sufficiently compensated anyway.

We need a pipe. A really big pipe to stuff those people into and move them. A pipe that is capable of moving 4.5 megatonnes of humans per second.

Cocijo speed is controlled by the amount of ARX sales. Let's increase it by buying some ARX.

Go to Sol, pic up the passengers and jump to the destination. You will be attacked and your passengers taken.
Been there, done that.
