I plan to get in there and bomb the actual Titan in an engineered Krait MkII, but I'm hoping FDev has made it so even people just starting can get good rewards.

But the fast boot mod doesn’t have any significant impact on Thargoid stuff unless you power it off in combat due to build restrictions (and could greatly benefit from 2 second boot time). As I said, it does not appear to bypass the long cycle effect forced by Glaive or Scythe reboot missiles.
I was thinking that, given that it reduces reboot time after hit by a Thargoid missile, it might point to more Thargoid stuff after Cocijo. And maybe in deep space, given that we get FSDs and not weapons or so. An exploration CG into Thargoid space, delving into their history would be nice. But this might be just wishful thinking, it could well be to establish even longer jump ranges for the colonization module next year.

IndyIf I'm reading the Community Goal correctly, only direct damage to the Titan counts? And it has to be a specific amount/credits?
The CG itself only requires a basic minimun contribution. One hit on the core would be enough.
If you want the Titan decal and shipkit (which is based off how many you participated in prior), it’s 2 million in the week before meltdown starts. Since it has never taken a week to bring one down, that’s not a particularly practical concern to be had, so far at least.

As far as I’m aware it does not. Or if so it’s not noticeable, because I felt it took about as long for a Cutter’s FSD during evacs to reboot as it did for a Krait’s using the pre-engineered version that already exists.
I do guess there will be more Thargoid stuff simply because I doubt the AX playerbase will be too interested in sitting on the old nebula content, nor are all of them just going to go into Power Pissing or BGS.

Hm, I was just wondering if the reduced reboot time would hint at more Thargoid stuff after this ... weekend? Re Cocijo: DCoH estimates 3 days plus or am I reading their website wrong?
How do you get to Sol without all your weapons being disabled, not to mention instable systems?
As soon as I get there if I haven't been interdicted and took damage, the HUD becomes unreadable...

ThinderHow do you get to Sol without all your weapons being disabled, not to mention instable systems?Titan presence in the system melts all Guardian stuff (weapons and other modules) unless they're protected by the engineering done by Ram Tah, or made already protected, such as the Torpedo Pylon. So re-equip your ship excluding unprotected Guardian stuff. And, about the glitchy HUD... We just press on. Nothing you could do with that.

Ouch. That's unfortunate. That means any other AX activities -- as best as a person is able -- won't count. I'll get mine, but bummer for people who are just getting started and see a valuable incentive.
To that point....
ThinderI've had it... I tried 4 times to get to Sol and I end up with disabled weapons and multiple malfunctions, impossible to engage, I have no idea why, plus I'm interdicted time and time again.
So I'm going to kill Thargos elsewhere.
Thinder, your Guardian modules/weapons will need have "Anti-Guardian Zone Resistance" if you're trying to get to the Titan with them.
That's also what happened when you tried to get to Sol previously and all of your Guardian stuff went red.
Then again, perhaps I'm mistaken and you have all human tech on your ship, have already added the resistance, and/or it's something else. (Someone else step in and correct me if I'm wrong.)

What would be a basic entry-level pew-the-titan build for a new player?
Let's aim for hardly any engineering at all. Just something someone could throw together if they read our posts and want to get into Sol for the Community Goal.
(If you can't tell, I'm quite happy they added a Community Goal. I wish the bar was a little lower for the general playerbase, but it's also a really really good reward, IMO.)

Thanks Meowers... I was starting to suspect that was the case.

AXI have something of a basic minimally engineered Krait MKII build present on their website, with a disclaimer that it's intended as a stepping stone. I can't vouch for its qualities but it looks a bit fragile for my tastes. Even less hull than a fully engineered FDL and no one ever accused it of being particularly tanky.
The build
I guess you could apply the same principles to a Vulture or what have you, but going into Thargoid content completely unengineered is generally a bit dodgy because it is at least or appears to be somewhat built on the premise of having a, at the very least, partially engineered ship.

For the Titan only, get enhanced AX missiles. They have the biggest oomph against a Titan's exposed thermal core. And if you want to try to shoot the vents, buy a nanite torpedo pylon, one is enough. All of this you get at a rescue ship, no need to unlock anything.
For Titan AND regular AX stuff in Sol, I'd take enhanced AXMCs. They are well enough for Scouts and Cyclopses, and with assistance also against Basilisk and Medusas. Plus they also do neat damage against the thermal core.
Personally, I currently fly an all enhanced AXMC Python Mk2 (the pre-engineered ones from the ShinDez CG) and it really shreds nicely.

That's a decent starter Titan build, honestly. Looks like only the Power Plant, Thrusters, FSD, and Sensors are engineered. Someone new could definitely scrounge for those (or go without, if not worrying about rebuy). I recommend at least engineering the Power Plant so as to keep the heat low.

Nanite Torps do not require the Anti-Guardian Zone Resistance.
Other Guardian modules/weapons might, so don't bring any along unless you're sure they're safe.
Also, "rescue ship" such as Rescue Ship Hutner in Luyten’s Star and Rescue Ship Cornwallis in V886 Centauri

Endorsing this suggestion, in general. Adding that, for new players, going enhanced AXMC works well for getting in and just getting to the action.
As far as the Community Goal, however, it seems that getting damage on the Titan itself will need to be the focus.

Is it just me or is Cocijo a bit more prone to core damage than the others? Made 3 mils. worth of damage in one run using just 4x enhanced AX MCs. Before I just got that when the Titans where down to 3 .. 2 hearts.
