Born in Haller City, Cooke, Barnard's Star as Godric Braken on April 30, 3278 to Linda Braken, owner of a small hauling company by the name of Braken Logistics, and Samuel Braken, employed by Caine Massey as a miner.
His mother's grandfather was an imperial senator, who was exiled due to charges of corruption. Even though both his parents worked up to 18 hours a day, they were barely able to get by and lived in constant poverty.

At the age of 16, Godric was conscripted by the Federal Navy against his will. He served on the Sword of Sol Battle Cruiser for 4 years, where he had to endure severe prejudice against him due to his imperal heritage.

After the Sword of Sol accidentally destroyed a refugee ship while deployed to quell an uprising in a rebelling system, his superior made him the scapegoat. Before they could convict him of a crime he didn't commit he escaped on board a cargo freighter headed to the Matet system.
There he assumed his great-grandfather's imperial last name: Hastur, and worked a variety of jobs; ultimately becoming the deputy security chief of Coelho Station. Once he had earned enough credits, Godric got his Pilots' Federation license and bought himself a used Sidewider Mk1 with which he started his first escapades as a freelancer.

Godric's disdain towards the Federation is no secret and even though he has no official ties to the Empire, he is considered an imperial sympathizer.

Whether he takes his Python out into an asteroid field to mine low-temperature diamonds  refitting her to earn some bounties or he uses his Asp Explorer New Horizon to conduct planetary surveys and explore the great unknown, Godric is always out there somewhere. The little time he spends on orbital stations or outposts, he spends mostly by himself altough he doesn't mind some company from time to time - especially after spending weeks on end in the great void (almost succumbing to space madness more than once).

In his spare time he likes to read a good book, like the newest volume of the Secrets of Raxxla series, or watch the current season of CQC. He also takes great interest in humanity's history and is somewhat of an expert in the field.
