a mining ship captain found the 14 year old boy,
He took pity on the boy and his story, taking him onto his ship, stowing him away and leaving the station within the hour.
James worked on the mining ship for 6 more years of his life, earning pay, saving money and healing from his traumatic past.
Upon turning 18, he left the crew that had become like a 2nd family to him, using his money to purchase a small set of quarters in the system of Ross 154, a federation system, he lived in the colony of Blaschke's Folly
There he lived and worked, pretty much wasting his life away for 14 years before meeting his wife, though it was short lived and after only a year, they divorced, officially due to “irreconcilable differences” but unofficially, and truthfully, due to the fact that she was unfaithful.
After two years of drinking and doing various life forgetting drugs due to deep depression, a friend mentioned the Pilot’s Federation to him.
He also mentioned that the survival rate wasn’t exactly.. favorable, but, at this point, James figured “What have I got to lose?”
It turned out that James was made to be a pilot, and, a trader as well it would seem. So upon passing his flight training with flying colors, James boarded his new/old sidewinder and left his old life behind.
…Never considering that even though he cared nothing for his father’s title and wealth, due to the fact of being an heir, he was entitled to it, which made him a threat to his father’s comfortable life.
The question was, did his father know he was alive?
