Slowing to see the Sights.

The closer I get to Sagittarius A*, the more wonders I'm starting to see. While plotting the next leg of my journey to the centre of the galaxy I accidentally came across a black hole. Instead of plotting the entire 1000LY to my next waypoint as per usual, this time I made a beeline for the black hole itself, around 700LY from where I was. I wasn't the first to find it but still - every time I see one of those monsters it both amazes and scares the crap out of me.

I've found two neutron stars along the way so far, as well as a smattering of Ammonia Worlds, Earth-Like Worlds and Water Worlds. I tend not to land on planets any more, unless I see a suitably large star and a planet I can land on in very close proximity to it. I almost always check the system map every time I jump in, usually while scanning the local star. If anything grabs my attention, I'll check it out.

Planetary rings are almost always a good bet for photographic opportunities. And there's something strangely relaxing about gliding amidst floating rocks with the engines powered down, just gazing out the window.

At last check, I'm just over 4KLY from the Core. I try and travel an average of 1KLY per day which should see me at the Core by around lunchtime on Saturday. From there it'll be down to the Great Annihilator and then either beginning the long journey back to the Bubble or heading down to the final waypoint station on the route between the Bubble and Colonia. It's the only outpost I missed on the journey so it would be nice to complete the set, as it were.

Then it will be decision time. Do I head back to Colonia and the brave, new frontier or do I head back to the Bubble and explore all of the wonders I've yet to see there? I kinda feel like I've had enough of long-distance space travel for now so Colonia does seem like the more enticing prospect. Right now, however, there is no known facility for upgrading any of the ship's modules so I have what I have.
