Bubble Bobbing

In a sentence: Exploration through the bubble is a restful change of pace that also happens to pay a bit.

I suppose there are faster & cleverer ways to earn a buck than bobbing around the bubble, scanning the less traveled shipping lanes.  It's true that Universal Cartographics doesn't give the largest payouts for updating previously scanned systems.  It doesn't matter to me this week; it's just me and my new ship, and it's incredibly relaxing.  It's like being paid to be on vacation.  Every few systems I drop into a random station or outpost just to have a lookyloo, and I've taken the occasional quickie delivery mission, but mostly my holds have stayed vacant.

The advanced discovery scanner was pretty pricy for a new millionaire like myself, but after hitting a few 3 star, 60+ planetary body systems I've decided I don't miss the old way of flying around to find them all one bit.  And the detailed surface scans really boost the payout on habitable planets!  I even managed to earn a rank today ("Trailblazer"!) with the Pilot's Guild in exploration, and have doubled my personal record for a payout on a single system.  Not bad for a day in my skivvies.

I still need a name for my new ship.  When I was mining I almost chose Moonraker, from the old earth James Bond legends - but it seemed a little too on the nose.  We're still on the honeymoon cruise and yet I already know she's dependable, and flexible as a gymnast.  A working girl, but with a touch of class.  Hmmmm.  It'll come to me soon.
