Journey to Colonia - Day 7 - Rohini

Took a brief jump to Eagle's Landing in Eagle Sector IR-W d1-117 to deliver Yuri's message and get a little last human contact in before I hit my next stretch of depopulated space. The Landing, as some of the locals call it, is home to a famous cardsharp named Bill "Three Thumbs" McGill, renowned among the Galaxy's underground gambling circles as a hustler extraordinaire. He has apparently retired from his old line of work and is quite reclusive, refusing to see any visitors for any reason except for once a year. That day was apparently not the day that I was visiting, and I'm not much of a gambler anyway, so I launched off-planet and plotted a course for Rohini, which lies 38 jumps away. Pointing my nose at the next plotted system, I engaged hyperspace jump and began the next leg of my journey.Of the 38 jumps, only one yielded a system with any objects undiscovered by another, and that was Lysoosms JP-K b8-14, where I found most of what was there aside from the star and all the stuff closest to it. The rest of the way I saw only other Commanders' names, including the ever-present and industrious CMDR Validating. Sincere respect. I'm not greedy, so picking up any new discoveries along my route is always appreciated.
I'd like to say the trip was routine, but I found myself plagued with strange and terrible dreams overnight, dreams of the blackness between the stars and of monsters that dwelt there. I would awake in cold sweats and gasping, the nightmare fading away into obscurity even as my breathing and racing heartbeat began to slow. After a few minutes sleep would set back in, and almost immediately I would be thrown back into the madness, finding myself being chewed in a disembodied mouth or something similarly horrible and better unremembered. The dreams were soon accompanied by vomiting, and after a quick medical scan Midnight informed me that I had gotten a nasty case of food poisoning.
"In the 34th century?" I said incredulously.
"Well," Midnight replied sardonically, "you needn't consume every odd bit of organic matter that crosses your path, Commander."
Smartass.
In any case, medical protocols were engaged and I was back in sleeping shape in a few hours, though I naturally was no longer tired by that point. The rest of the trip to Rohini went smoothly, and I came into the last populated system before the longest leg of my jump between such systems. I docked at Eudaemon Anchorage, a proper station which orbits a beautiful Earthlike:
Picked up and installed a Detailed Surface Scanner at the station, so from here on out I can put mapping tags on some planets. I've noticed that they're not as prolific as discovery tags, so I should find some success in getting some mapping credits. The next stretch of the journey is daunting, bringing me nearly four thousand light years to my next stop in Skaudai CH-B d14-34, a planetside base called Sacaqawea Space Port. Don't see myself making this trip in just one entry, so will probably stretch it out over two days and two entries, meaning my next log will likely be from deep in the black. o7 Commanders.
