"I don't even know where to start with what's happened in the past several weeks. It's been hell. I guess I can start with a horrible job offer I took. Well, I was lied to. Look, I'm not the best mercenary out there. I follow credits and now I'm realizing that I need to dig for more intel before doing a job for someone."

"It starts about two weeks ago with a shady guy with his picture all fizzled out and blurred. Asks me to follow him into deep space within the system to give me a lucrative job offer. Yes, I know, a bad idea. Anyways, I follow him and he sends me the job offer that pays really well. So take it. Simple cargo transfer of mostly foods, some Reactive Armour and Personal Weapons. Now I questioned the weapons but this guy tells me it's for these miners that are constantly being harassed by pirates. So I bought it and took the job.

I pick up the cargo at the nearest station and begin heading several systems away to an Imperial system. I landed at the Starport and not long after touching down, I got armed Imperial security point weapons at me. They flagged the cargo, and without hesitation detained me without answers and threw me into confinement. Amazing, right? But there's more."

"I'm then interrogated relentlessly and they begin to say I'll be convicted for assisting terrorists. Next thing I know, my credit balance is sapped, my license is revoked and I lost ownership to all my ships. I tried explaining to them I was delivering supplies to a mining colony or that's the story I was told. No one buys it and after several days of crap they let me go. They haven't told me what happened but they returned my licenses right away. Days later, my credit. Ships are gone still so I was stuck with a Hauler for a few days before my credits came back. Asked about my ships but I got no response. I love these guys."

"Anyways, that was horrible. My conclusion is that we should never take jobs that are from sketchy people in space. I don't want to jump the gun but that all seemed like it could've been...you know…the bad guys everyone's talking about. I know that might be a stretch, but who knows. I certainly don't. Imperial systems are in meltdown right now with all this so although the cargo was shady from an objective view, they might have overreacted thinking I was smuggling in weapons and armour for those...you know...bad people. Which I might have been unknowingly. Whatever, at least I'm not in a penal colony locked in a cell. I'm just going to step away from taking jobs and work on building another ship for exploration. That's what I'm going to do."
