The Contact

Isabella glanced at her Transaction screen to her left finding the mission she was given by her contact complete. She grimaced at it before opening up her inbox seeing she'd just received a message. From: Aubrielle - "I see the jobs complete. Good job. Meet me in the concourse. I'll be waiting near the bar." Isabella scoffed, closing the message, then sucked air through clenched teeth, feeling the pain shoot up her left side as she dropped from Supercruise and directed her ship for requested docking. She looked down and noticed where the suit had automatically sealed the bullet wound that she suffered from the job. There wasn't any time for a medkit. Everything happened so fast on the ground. The ship landed and was quickly brought down into the hangar. Once the ship was secured and the pad locked in place, she disembarked to head to her contact she'd found when looking into this case about the threats coming at her father. Isabella wanted to track this as these calls of violence towards her father needed to be tracked and stopped as soon as possible. This contact, Aubrielle, knew someone that was tech-savvy and could possibly give an ID or location on where the sender of the threats is. Problem was originally she thought Aubrielle was the one who was the tech genius. Turned out she lied to get her to do the first job before this one which was installing spyware into a settlement. That led to the job now being completed but at the cost of being shot.
The doors to the outposts concourse opened and Isabella's mag boots clamped down with each step taken. She went below to the bar where she found Aubrielle at the corner with her arms crossed. She was a woman with dark hair and olive skin, she donned a dark green pressure suit and motioned for Isabella to come. She did.
"Nice job! You did well for a job that requires you to...get your hands a bit dirty." Isabella scowled "I hate killing people that don't need to be killed. I got shot as well!" Aubrielle motioned her to lower her voice. "Look, you took out a dirty pig. Nothing really lost here. Also, how'd you get shot? Target wasn't that skilled."
"She identified me! She pulled out the scanner upon seeing me and wanted to check who I was. I had no choice but to shoot first so I did." Aubrielle shook her head slowly and spoke "Don't tell me you fought the whole settlement. That's a mess I don't want following me. I'm serious, deals off if you massacred the whole place." Isabella winced at that. "I'm not a psychopath! I shot the target but the stupid workers started shooing me! I ran. Plus I disabled the alarms beforehand so the whole settlement and its Skimmers wouldn't unload on me." Aubrielle raised a satisfied eyebrow "Look at you. You're a smart little cookie. You're good at getting into places you're not supposed to be. Breath of fresh air too. Can't tell you how many mercs just gun a whole place down." Isabella shrugged but winced as a jabbing pain shot up her side reminding her of the wound she needs to attend to.
"Yeah. I've been good at those things I guess. Been so since a child. But that doesn't matter. The jobs done, the targets taken care of, and I want that info on that guy who can help me with...my problem." Aubrielle looked at Isabella and smiled. "Awe, you're such a good hire, I love how you handle these jobs. I could really really use your expertise with future jobs. We could be an amazing team, you and I. Plus I really like you." She winked and immediately Isabella frowned, getting a tad upset at the whole situation she was in. "Are you...flirting? Really? Don't. Just stop. I want my deal upheld. I do the jobs you wanted and once they're done you give me the damn information on this bloody guy you said could trace this message for me! Since you lied the first time saying you could do it. I came to you for help and you said you could once I did what's asked. Please!" Aubrielle rolled her eyes and sighed heavily "Ugh, Bella, you couldn't be fun, could you? I...lied to you again. There isn't a guy who can trace that bu-"
Aubrielle was cut short as Isabella brought a forearm up to her neck pushing her against the bar table behind. A few people looked quickly but turned away soon after. The bartender stayed looking. "You ladies do that somewhere else. Not here." Aubrielle half smiled as Isabella released her. You didn't let me finish. Jeez. There isn't a guy because I'm that guy...or gal that can trace it for you. Yes, I lied again. Really I was telling the truth at the start. I just needed that guy ganked and you did so well with the first job I needed a way to keep your attention." Isabella glared at her. "I want this finished. No more slippery bullshit. I'm serious, you're pissing me off with this goose chase. I should know better than to trust a criminal." Aubrielle rubbed her throat
"First thing, I'm not a criminal, I'm an honest one. Secondly, of course. No slippery BS, I have a room in the HAB section of the station. I have some equipment that might help me trace the message or whatever you have. You said there was possibly encryption so if that's the case it could take some time." Aubrielle paused but then began to smirk slightly.
"Hehe...you're a whole lot stronger than you look. Fast too." She looked at Isabella's damaged suit where she'd been hit. It was a slight barely noticeable mark where the suit sealed itself to protect the user. "You also might want to use a medkit on yourself. Relieve the pain you're feeling as well as clean it."
Isabella motioned with her hand. "Just...lead the way to your place so I can get this done. Please. I'm not having a good day and the last thing I want to do is be stuck here for hours." Aubrielle nodded then slowly led the way as Isabella followed right behind. She had it laid out in her head. If everything went the way it should then all she had to do once the individual was located was to kidnap them and bleed information on who they are and what they want her father for. Hopefully, then she can find the leader or organizer of this and stop this. Somehow.
