You may notice that this recording's spatial sig originates from Zende, notably far from Sag A*, and that's because it's been a few days and I've been productive for once, a rare occurrence. I made the self-destroying trip all the way back to Colonia- sold data to the MCRN, outfitted Elysia a bit at Jaques, and finally docked in Colonia Dream- home, not really sweet because real cake is incredibly expensive, home. On the way back, notably found a system (Byoomi BL-S C6-5792) with an undiscovered Earth-like, now headcanoned as Asphela, and two water worlds, which I didn't bother to name because I was tired, more than a little frustrated and sleepy. After a while, traveling between star systems in seconds gets a little boring, okay? Then, after docking at Colonia Dream a hundred million credits richer, I bought a Sidewinder, poured Canonn standard biscuits floating in Tesco beer into its E-rated FSD (Aqua-rated) and extended it's jump range to 23,051ly. Fascinating- truly, alcohol is humankind's greatest invention, not that I've ever had any. I managed to jump all the way to Trevithick Dock at LHS 3447, and apparently the Canonn biscuits made the FSD so accurate that I could set my arrival point inside one of Trevithick Dock's small hangars- r e m a r k a b l e. Side note- the jump there apparently burnt out the FSD and consumed all my Tesco beer so I'm not jumping back any time soon, o-oh goddesses above I'm gonna have to get on the CCH again save me ple-hhease. After that, got right into the absolutely enjoyable (read: not) business of running around the bubble gathering materials for Felicity Farseer and Elvira Martuuk, though I must confess I didn't find any meta-alloys the uncheaty way in my newly purchased exploration ship, Alyx II: Electric Boogaloo, so I took the easy way out and bought one from Darnielle's Progress. Yes, yes, I know, not a real explorer, though I did get Explorer Elite at Obsidian Orbital of all places after leaving Pedersen's Legacy at 99%! NINETY-NINE! Started engineering the heck out of my FSDs until I ran out of random salvage materials- I swear to the goddesses why can't we just buy these things? There has to be a wholesale market somewhere for chemical processors, right? Visited Shinrarta Dezhra and Jameson Memorial, now my home away from home, mostly because PiFed runs the station at a loss to, for some reason, acquire every single module/ship in the galaxy and ship it to this incredibly pompous Orbis. The entire system just radiates pompousne- no, okay, let me tell you, I have at least 4 transmissions on my private server from PiFed Elites in Shinrarta telling me how awesome and above-everyone they were with their triple Elite and pledge to never use docking comps. Here, they're attached with this journal entry. Read. Now docked at Sadler's Song to take advantage of the Zende-Guardian space ferry, one because it's pretty soon and I came at a convenient time- two that I'm one day going to snap and brick Alyx II's FSD in a bout of space madness, and I'll take any step I can to reduce my jump count, namely Guardian FSD boosters, which I'll now have to grind for based on handy GalNet tutorials from other CMDRs in Synuefe. This is my previously-mentioned break from long-distance exploration, because when traveling light-years in seconds from some of gravity's greatest and most beautiful creations in a ship that embodies the current pinnacle of a millennia of human astroengineering (with a little Guardian glowy magic sprinkled into the side thrusters) gets irritating and boring, it might be time to add some variety.
Asphela, my second (first? No idea, I think my memory's going already at 21) undiscovered ELW on the route home from Sag A*
Autodocking at Jaques, because I don't trust my space madness-riddled hands
