The Hunt: Sidequest

Picked up a Diamondback Explorer, got ready to head out to the asshole end of civilization... decided to stop at Obsidian Orbital in Maia just in case. Don't wanna have to make this trek because of a silly botched landing or something. The last time I was in the Pleiades, it was dead empty space. This time? It's crawling with scientists, tourists, pirates and other uh... "explorers".
In any case, saw a bunch of science vessels make their way to the docks, and overheard the dock workers complaining about their extra long 3rd shifts from these scientists returning from the field; one joked she wished they'd leave their attitudes on 5C with the rest of their field EQ...
I snuck a glance at the flight log from one of the ships docked next to me when the pilot ran off to complain about chipped paint when he saw someone hook his ship up for refueling.

Jumped over to Merope and scoped out the moon, waited until dark fell (those science types are a bunch of 9-5 stiffs who are nothing if not predictable), and snuck over to that barnacle, ready to snag me some meta alloys... lemme tell you though, photos don't do it justice. The giant glowing smoking cluster in the middle would rumble and generally be spooky... snagged two tons of meta alloys, snagged a bunch of minerals too, and got out before anyone was the wiser.
Sitting here, drinking coffee at Obsidian, watching scientists eat their dinner, and thinking I should get more meta alloys. I don't think they even noticed the site was disturbed.

UPDATE: patience and a keen eye pay off: when one of the scientists dozed off in his pancakes, I was able to snag these documents:
