CMDR Log - #020
Star Date - May 8th 3308
System: Kruger 60
Planet: -
Location: Normal Space
Ship operation is . . . nominal.
System analytics routine . . . still running? Hmm, I started running that thing a while ago . . .
Salvage contracts have been slow lately. Not much going on right now and I'm finding myself drifting through space, just ha . . . spacing out.
I pulled up next to some drifting wreckage out here and figured I'd just get some rest.
The radio static from the degrading comms beacon was, kind of soothing to fall asleep to. . . Is that weird? That can't be normal . . .
Been lounging in the cabin, browsing Galnet news. Zachary Rackham for Federation President huh? I like the sound of that.
He may say he's not looking at the presidency, but 3309 is coming up. We'll see what his real intentions are eventually.
At least with Rackham you'd get a politician without all the charade.
The Fed politicians all try to act like some pious lover of the people or somethin' but they all just meddle in the same shady deals and devious tactics.
Rackham would at least play the part honestly, and who knows; maybe he'd make the Federation better off for it.
Ah well, doesn't change things for me in the end. Still gotta scramble around out here no matter who's sitting in their plush office seats.
I saw articles about those Sanderlyn interviews from last week too.
Sounds interesting.
Seems like pilots have to go download the interviews from megaships in their respective systems.
Only problem is, it sounds like that's all Thargoid territory right now.
I'm not interested in seeing those space bugs face-to-face but, finding out more from those interviews does sound interesting.
I'm not some anit-xeno ace pilot looking to go stick it to the alien menace though.
Hell, I'd definitely need something better than these rust buckets I can afford right now anyways. Maybe it's about time for an upgrade.
Maybe I'd be able to hold out for a while, but honestly I've never fought a Thargoid.
I don't actually know what I'd be getting myself into.
I mean, I've seen Guardian ruins. Shot down a few Sentinels but . . . those space bugs are somethin' different. Really gives me the creeps.
Maybe I could get in there and get to the ship, download the interviews and get out. Or maybe I try and I end up wrapped in some cocoon, being fed to Thargoid babies or something.
Anyway, the interviews have got me thinking. I'll . . . keep it in mind for now.
Hmm, and today's mother's day?
Hey COVAS, set a reminder;
