A story on multiple wars

Personal Log: CMDR Wilhelm Erlkoenig: 25 Nov 3305:

Wars are an interesting event that occurs in the timeline of humans. I have studied wars from the time of our ancestors on Old Earth to the wars that are being fought in our present era. I had the recent opportunity to partake in a conflict that the corporation I am affiliated with, Alchemy Den, was embroiled in. Nothing was spectacular about the conflicts themselves. There were at the beginning 3 separate conflicts occurring simultaneously in Alchemy Den space. One war was an unwanted invasion into another system. Another war was to gain control of a station in a system. And the 3rd war was against Sirius Corporation in LHS 2887. At first the wars seemed easy to fight, as many ships from Alchemy Den seemed to hold the conflicts at bay in the two systems.

But, history has shown that when one attempts to fight a war on two fronts he will usually fall on both sides. We began to realize this by the second or third day, when it began to not matter how much time we spent in those conflict zones or how many enemy ships we killed, we were losing too much ground. Thus we decided to retreat from one system and focus all of our available forces against Sirius Corporation. We redeployed our forces to focus on one system, because he who fortifies everywhere is weak everywhere.

Thus we pushed our forces to maintain our control of LHS 2887.  In the process we began to encounter other independent Pilot's Federation commanders who were unknowingly aiding the enemy for favor and reputation with them. However, cordial communications were successful in either gaining their support for Alchemy Den or for their promise of leaving the system on their own accord.

Eventually, through our continued efforts Alchemy Den eventually won the war against Sirius Corporation and we maintained our control over the system. The cost came in the loss of influence in a system that we had been expanding into, but we may have lost 2 systems if we hadn't redeployed our forces in a more strategic manner to focus on one front.
