Project: Outer Limits

Expedition: Perseus Arm

There is something wrong with this part of the galaxy we're in. After reading up on the events surrounding the zurara, the abandoned formadine colonies and the mysterious activity that tends to go on around them, we decided we would take a 'right' at station X, and head down to the systems.

I've never felt more uneasy in my entire life. Even before fully getting into the systems where the colonies are, I had this dark feeling come over me, like a dread had started to settle into my spine and work its way down to my tailbone.

The colonies themselves were derelict, still much like they were in the images that were available to us through the data networks on it, but we needed to see this place for ourselves after reading about what happened and wanted to recover some of the data logs that were available - hoping we might find something beyond what's already available.

Not much was found, but while we were there we did notice there were several ships in the area that continuously circled around. My Navigations officer, cmdr Alesak and myself, began to wonder where these guys were going once they left the system itself. I had a wake scanner equipped, so we did some scans, and decided we'd follow them. A few different systems were logged, and we may go back to scan a bit more and see if anyone else leads us to anywhere interesting.

One particular little sidewinder popped over to a nearby star system - and we decided to pursue. We dropped in, and saw he was super cruising to a nearby planet. So, quietly as we could, we continued to shadow behind him. He stopped just outside of one of the bodies orbiting the near star, and hung outside of supercruise a few hundred km from the surface.

We decided to cruise to the surface, and investigate to see if anything was nearby.

Sure enough...wreckage. With escape pods. And they're occupied. It's not necessarily a clue to what happened on those colonies, but with all of the mysterious activity that's swirling in this particular sector of the milky way we can't help but wonder - did this person perhaps fall victim to the same sinister presence that the crew reported feeling watched by during their missions?

We've contacted a few other members in our convoy to see if anyone has storage capacity for these poor souls - and it's a negative. Not one of us has thought to keep space on board for possibly recovery and rescue operations out in the deep, and now we're hoping someone from the bubble will volunteer to help come along and get these commanders home. If anyone out there comes across this log, we have landed ourselves nearby and decided to make camp for now. We want to give these souls a chance, and locating the wreckage again may prove difficult if left behind for too long.

We're not leaving them until we know we've given them a fair shot at rescue - and if we can't find anyone to help us recover them, we'll have to move on.

I would hope someone would do the same for me if my escape pod ever ended up on the barren surface of a forgotten planet.

I just wish I could shake this feeling that there's something out here, watching us right now...

Signed,

Commander Omegamann
