I’m going to try to start keeping a log of my mundane life amongst the stars. Worse case scenario, I’ll use these to remember what I did. Currently I’m between exploration and wars for my employer, the East Indian Co. We are an organization that deals mostly with trade, and by trade I mean get the best deal for anything a Citizen if the Empire can sell from discovery data to slaves.
I’m currently assigned to help bolster my Company’s influence in the Neits system. That’s NEITS, not to be confused with Neites. Upon leaving my home station in Kappa Fornicas, I had mistakenly flown there, killed a bounty hunter trying to get a piece of my hide and landed at an outpost just to realize that there wasn’t any EICo presence in the system for me to bolster. As a bit of an amateur explorer I’m normally not one to complain about system hopping in my Diamondback, the Angy Ogre. But, the mistake greatly annoyed me nonetheless. I guess I deserve it for flying after indulging in some good EICo certified onion head.
Upon arriving in Neits I accept several missions to procure some amount of consumer technologies. Luckily, there’s a station a jump away in YK Fornacis. While there I decided to pick up a good medium trading ship for outpost trading. Sadly, the closest output selling thr Type 6 is 300,00 LS from system center. However, that is not an issue for me tonight. I stare out my canopy and gaze upon the stars like a child leaving his homeworld for the first time.
After picking up my new Type 6 (yet to be named) I load up on consumer technologies and head back to Neits. I take load after load, eyes on the stars. After awhile my eyes get too heavy and lower my new ship in the hangar , after dodging several low ranking pirates. I have completed three different missions, but I’m now ready for more Outpost runs.
I know this work doesn’t seem like much, but it’s what I do now. I was born to space truck, having come from a long line of deep space haulers. But, as I go back in forth with loads of consumer electronics, I consider where my next journey into the black might be. Perhaps another nebula?
