Morgana's Might , the name currently painted on the most accomplished and engineered ship in the fleet. The Federal Corvette that has seen so many conflict zones , taken the lives of other Commanders , fought in many conflicts on behalf of the Empire , and it's Princess. Originally thought to be stolen in May of 3305 , was actually purchased by a young woman who had spent the better part of a month fighting alongside Federal forces , taking down pirates and criminals. She'd finally earned the privilege to purchase the best that the Federations shipyards had to offer. With a surprisingly similar module pinout to her old tired Anaconda which had been battered and beaten , the modules that could be used to give this Federal warship a boost were taken from the damaged hull of the Anaconda and fitted , thrusters , the powerplant , even the shields were transferred. The ship would finally see its first trial by fire when MIRAI Group went to war with the Tumuzgo Empire League in their home system of Tumuzgo. The ship went from zone to zone , battling alongside other commanders and showing how capable it was to it's new owner. While the war effort and the Corvette's first outting being successful , the commander couldn't help but feel the ship could still be better. Over the next few weeks , she'd work gathering materials , meeting new engineers to further fine tune the ship in an effort to make it tougher. Along the way it fought alongside imperial forces under the banner of Heaven's Judgment. The group had grown out of their home system of Urvane , and into neighboring systems , conflicts rose out of these expansions and the Corvette was given more chances to shine. The work had paid off , the ship was more agile , tougher and able to contend with the Spec Ops found in the high intensity conflicts...however the work was not finished.
Through the remainder of 3305 and into 3306 , the Corvette would emerge from conflicts victorious , contribute to allied efforts , and disperse criminals with extreme prejudice in the asteroid belts. Armor would be enhanced , weapons tuned and swapped out as the situations called for. The FSD had been by this point tuned as far as it could go and the Corvette is not known for its outstanding range... 17Ly with the loadout made it easier to use another ship to travel , then let a transport service bring the ship over to the system it was needed. This was the norm , for most of the major conflicts the ship participated in. It was for all intents at purposes the flagship of the fleet at this point. Proving to be far more resilient than the other ships by a pretty large margin.
Then came the final stages in September of 3306 , with the emergence of the NMLA. An enemy new to the young commander and her flagship. Little did she know how much of a fight they'd put up or how much damage they would deal to human occupied space. The ships upgrades were accelerated after the first few attacks , and would inevitably be finalized. Shields were strengthened , Shield Cell banks were also installed and dialed up. Weapons systems were gone through , even the fighter bays were checked over. Everything had to be perfect , so when the day came , the Corvette could show the NMLA what they unleashed. The thrusters were finished , the powerplant modified to supply enough juice to the systems , bulkheads were also checked. There could not be any detail missed.
Ember the system she'd been using as an HQ since late June of 3306 had won some semblence of independence , the Corvette single handedly crushed anything that came into it's sights during the battle , ripping through hull as if it was no more than paper. Dispatching capital class ships as if they were mere flies. There was no doubt that when the time came , the ship would be ready. It would further prove itself in initiatives launched by the Federation and Empire both , and would come out on top in bounties collected on the Empires behalf during the Capital ship initiatives. It also provided security during the Galactic Conference , and then went on to battle the Neo-Marlinist Order of Mudhrid head on. No mercy was given , and the ship had done better than expected against the NMLA.
All the while Ember returned to Imperial Rule under the Shonso Empire Pact who proceeded to arrest members of the Ember Defence Party for their corruption , greed , and failure to defend the system.
Soon after the ship would again see warfare , this time against the Federation in Paresa in May of 3307. The ship would be set against those who built it and you could imagine the surprise when some of the federal forces realized they were fighting someone they had worked with almost two years ago , in the same ship they sold to that individual. This wasn't so much a case of Federal vs Imperial however as it was about their hasty decision to invade imperial space without sufficient evidence or confirmation. The same mistake the Empire made in LTT1935 , which they too paid dearly for.
The ship would once more see the NMLA on the battlefield , this time in Marlinist territory as civil war had broken out in July of 3307 over a failed attempt to gain NMLA political recognition.
it would also be called back home to Ember and face Abysse Corp in their home of HIP 14007 , destroying their stolen ships and sending many of their pilots to early graves.
Over the two years this ship has been in service , not once has it been destroyed. It's had many names and many ID tags , seen many wars and killed many pirates. (RIP to the Anahit Gold Brothers)
But today it bears the name Morgana's Might , named after a friend the young commander lost to the NMLA in the bombing of Dawes Hub a woman who just like this ship ... fought like hell and charged head on into the fight. A woman who unlike the young Commander fought not with a ship , but boots on the ground. She died trying to save a family that had been trapped when the bombs went off... and in the end , she saved them at the cost of her own life. The young Commander , and her Corvette fight on and with every NMLA ship that goes up in a fireball , every victory Phoenix knows , Morgana would be proud.
Hope you all enjoyed this lengthy story on one of my favorite and oldest ships in my fleet , its crazy that it's been two years piloting that thing through numerous wars and pirate hunts. Perhaps I will write more of these when I find the time and inspiration too. Also hope you don't mind a bit of outside perspective -Remnant1992
