Third Logbook Entry - A Slow Day

Beginning audio logbook speech to text recognition. "Man, today was a slog. Very little progress towards my Stratum goal with huge amounts of dry jumps between Stratum-yielding systems. I was at it nearly all day, too. My mind kept slipping back to thoughts of killing Thargoids and I found myself daydreaming quite a bit. Ah... to be back in the action for just another few hours... not that I'd want to encounter anything out here in my Diamondback Explorer. I don't even have any weapons on this thing so that'd be rough. Hell, I don't think I'm even fast enough to get away from anything that finds me out here. I'm just banking on being alone. At this point I don't know what's scarier... finding out that I'm not alone one day when I look out of my cockpit, or being alone the entire time this far out.
No space madness to speak of so far. Just lots of thinking. Thinking and podcasts. Plenty of time for both, too. It seems like every other system I visited today with Stratum involved a long haul of 80,000 ls or more just to get to the damn planet. Get this - the longest trip in-system was a little over 500,000 ls. Lots of thinking, indeed.
I saw some interesting nebulae while traversing the black, but I don't want to get sidetracked so I decided to stay out. I'll get sucked up with taking a bunch of pictures and ruin my pace. Once I finish up with Elite V Exobiology and Exploration I think I'll take a little photography trip around Colonia before heading back to the Bubble. I mean a full fledged, photography-centric trip. It'll be my little vacation/celebration after putting in the work with the Pilot's Federation. I know for a fact once I'm back in the Bubble I'm be busy at work again so it might do me good to stay out here for a bit longer after my work.
Man, the stars out here are pretty... so dense and bright. The galactic core never gets old. Alright, time to eat some protein and slam a water then I'm off to bed. I'm parked on the dark side of a small planet up against a mountain. It's the best I can do to avoid any meteorites impacting the ship. I know the chances of that are small, but I didn't make it this far in life by living dangerously for no reason... Could you imagine that? The celebrated Thargoid war hero, VladmirMcDoogle, killed out in the middle of nowhere by a small meteorite that impacted his ship while he slept. Okay, full pips to systems just in case and I'm out of here. Hopefully tomorrow will be more eventful.
Commander VladmirMcDoogle signing out."
