A Road to the Future (Galactic Women's Day Special)

Some say that living a life is like walking down a road. It's about the speed you go and the direction you choose. And the road itself, it can be straight and smooth, but also can be quite harsh and unforgiving. Now, in our 34th century, in that space flight era we reached, I'm walking down the well lit and nicely paved road, seeing the polished stones, that are fit each other perfectly. But also I know it wasn't always that way.
Looking back to the past, I see how road become dark, narrow and winding, stones become more and more rough. Jagged edges, cracks, stains of blood. And I know there were people who put those first stones into their places, giving me a chance to walk on a better road now. I'm immensely grateful to the women of the past, who started building that road despite everything. Their stones were too heavy, they had no tools, they were told they couldn't, told they're weak, told they shouldn't build a road for themselves, they were criticised, they were attacked. But they kept putting those stones, one after another, sometimes at the cost of their own lives. That's how the road was built.
Because we needed it. We had no future without it. No our future. And the future is not a specific point in time, it will always be ahead of us, it will always be yet to reach. And we need to keep building that road as we go forward. And when the time comes, when I get the chance, when I find my own stone, I'll take it and place it, no matter how heavy it might be. And someone who started her path after me could step on that stone and walk further.
On this road to the future.

I don't know how long Elite will last or remain active and populated enough, I don't know how long INARA will last, and I don't know how long I will be playing this game. But while I play, I'll be writing these posts to celebrate this day and support other women who play this game.
