The Quest for Engineers

First update. I estimate I'm about 300 hours into exploring the galaxy. My first forays with my sidewinder had me bounty poaching at nav beacons and low res sites to scrape together some money for a better ship. I must say, the "sidey" proved quite nimble and reliable, but I needed more juice! On to the Cobra AKA "The GooGooGaGa". Christened by my daughter, "The GooGooGaGa" may sound cute, but is nothing of the sort. Despite one ill judged fight I picked with a Federal Corvette, the Cobra proved a great ally. From bounty hunting, I switched to mining, then I tried some trading, and went on a 5000 LY journey into the black just to see if I could survive. I did. Next up the Asp Explorer AKA "Munchkin". My workhorse and most reliable ship, and still my favourite to fly. I've engineered this ship for maximum jump range, currently at about 60LY. This is my main runner, materials gathering, exploring, surface farmer, bubble jumper, engineer grinder.
I then made some big money mining in a python, 50 million per hour soon had my purchasing a new luxury passenger Dolphin AKA "The Paddy Wagon", my first dedicated combat Krait MK II AKA "The Fangs of Justice", a second passenger python - "The Dark Runner" along with an impulse buy Anaconda, which I took out for a test flight, got back to the station after 2 minutes and almost collapsed when I refueled. I then decided I'd hold off on fitting this one out until I have more cash.
For weeks now I've been hunting the galaxy for materials, materials, materials! Current mission, return to Robigo, jump in "The Dark Runner" and ferry passengers for material and cash. Note to self, ensure to check signal sources en-route for any degraded\HG emissions. Next steps - efficient lasers on "The Fangs Of Justice", hull and armour. Federation ranking.
The hunt continues...
