The Conflux (Beta Base)

Today has been good, travel is doing well with further jump ranges which equals less jumps. Good thing I modded the Dream before heading into the black again, she has served me well so far. To the point I get ship-sick when I leave her...ahhh what can you do?

But that's not all as today I took a detour, seeing I was passing through the Conflux (I didn't know at first until curiosity got me) I thought about these beacon things and the bases that other cmdr's have discovered. I remember going to the beacon in the Formidine Rift, that turned out well...all that data, I got photo's though so I guess that counts for something.

Anyhow, I found a video link made by a fellow cmdr, jotted down the co-ordinates and the name of the planet and wallah. I eventually found the base, beta base. As well as the beacon orbiting the star as you jump in.

The star system is PRU AESCS HW-S B31-2 and the planet is CD 1

Co-ordinates:

-7.2958
-35.9579

I'm here near the base right now, relaxing before I continue to the Skaudai nebulae for refitting. I've took some photo's of the base, and collected some of the logs left over by the residents that use to occupy this place.

...3270 the logs date back to, just over 30 years ago. Not long for me though, seems like only five minutes ago. But why, why did they come out here for, and the Formidine Rift annnd Hawkins Gap??? One of the logs I scanned mention an interdiction whilst in witch-space...I know what did that, isn't it obvious enough? and now they are back, or were already here...just lurking in the shadows, waiting.

Maybe I shouldn't dwell here for too long, whatever happened to these people 30 years ago, I don't know if any survived, made it back or just disappeared, taken even...

It's disturbing to think about it.

These bases have been built in key points, far from the bubble. Are these places meant to be for long-range communication, a detection system perhaps? Covering certain areas of space. No, surely not, why send an entire team of people out here for and not probes, they could have easily just sent the probes to act as a detection system. Unless the people were bait??? God I bet it's something to do with that...INRA? that special organization in the background, keeping their distance whilst slowly wiggling their fingers into things.
Do you like it?
