Recent thargoid invasion and absolute ignorance and passivity of Super-Powers made it clear that an independent agency shall defend humanity's habitable space. This is true, that Salvation is a new figure that emerged out of absolutely nowhere, many pilots are ignorant of his origins, but we all can agree on his contribution. Whoever it is, organisation, AI, xeno-entity or he is a simply rogue scientist - he repelled the invasion.However, we might over-estimate the thargoid threat. Yes - they are capable of invasion, however, we have never seen them using any weapons of mass destruction. We know from Guardians archives that it's not the thargoids who destroyed them, but the guardians themselves. We do not know yet of any civilization being destroyed and whipped out by thargoids, we just haven't found any archaeological cites indicating that, however, we know of their aggression, just like of our own.
To who do we trust and give powers and weapons capable of mass destruction? Are we sure that the same cannot be used against human vessels? What if we not just triggered thargoid mass-destruction development, but also have given too much power to potential Tiran?
I encourage you to think about whether Salvation has to have such a great weapon and lack of scrutiny on his businesses? What if he simply manipulates thargoids knowing their hunt for guardian technologies?
