Bad feeling...

So I just docked up at an Imperial station in HIP 18857. Leberecht Tempel Port; it's a quiet place. Maybe because it's an out of the way terraforming system, or maybe because it's only a few light years from the Thargoid front and Titan Thor. The Hellhound is all rearmed and loaded. I'm just waiting for Thor to become vulnerable before I head in. I'm unsure why I'm here at this point. Well sure, I'm here to take it to the Titan with all the other Cmdrs. This 'war' as people are calling it seems crazy. At first I flew out with everyone else answering the call to defend humanity. But the longer this goes on the more I can't shake this bad feeling that we are making a mistake, or worse an enemy we don't want. I've run into Thargoids a few times out exploring but that was different. We scanned each other and did a side-stepping dance around each other and cautiously went our ways. Even now I feel like we are being treated with restraint by them. I just fear we are about to cross a threshold we can't come back from. Here in the bar are a few AXI pilots toasting "Glory to mankind!" I don't share their hubris at this point. I'll just quietly finish my drink and wish for mercy to humanity.
