CMDR PAUSANIAS - THE SHIP OF THE MIND EXPEDITION - DAY 45
23 Sep 2020Pausanias
Hi Cmdrs,There are now fewer stars in the sky, you can visibly see the difference now. One thing that proves this is this image of Ursa Major, it’s got a star missing!
Of course it’s not Ursa Major because this ‘game’ is technically accurate when it comes to the Galaxy, it’s just a random pattern in the stars where I am that resembles the constellation.
Last night I had the issue of sending the Carrier in the wrong direction, I’ve found a fix! Whilst sat in the CUTTER I plotted a route to the Nebula, this can be done in the Cutter because you can plot up to 20,000 ltyrs, the Nebula was approximately 1,200 ltyrs away but of course I can plot that easily in the Cutter. I then went along the planned route in the Galaxy Map and found the nearest system to 500 ltyrs along the route, noted its name, and then sent The Carl Sagan there. In theory that system is on the route.
Since the Carrier has now been sent on another 500 ltyrs it should be about 700 ltyrs from the Nebula now. I think what I will do next is send it on again another 500 light years but I might leave it there and do the final 200 ltyrs in the Cutter flying to the Nebula and then back to the Carrier, I’ll see.
Having sorted where to send the Carrier accurately tonight I set off on the 22 jumps to it. Would you believe it, the first system I scanned had a Tritium hotspot around a planet, I mined a full (practically) cargo bay of Tritium there as last night used up a lot more Tritium because of the double jump.
I’ve carried on jumping and found this nice looking binary system . . .
Before I logged off tonight I took an image of the Nebula I’m heading for, so you can see how big it is.
Total Carrier jump distance to date since 10th August: 12,500 ltyrs (Personal note: 20 jumps on 13 Sept)
Total Ship jump so far: 32,175 ltyrs
Total planets Level 3 scanned: 10,003
Total exploration data: 300,500,000 credits
Total systems with my name on: 2488
The Cutter is now 11,900 ltyrs away from Sol
Onwards to the CLOOKUIA AA-A H35 Nebula, it still seems along way off yet but it’s getting bigger, see the image!
