CMDR PAUSANIAS - THE SHIP OF THE MIND EXPEDITION - DAY 46
24 Sep 2020Pausanias
Hi Cmdrs,I’m not quite finished for the night tonight but just look at this!
The Nebula would now be just over 300 ltyrs away now and in game it’s almost filling my Cutter screen top to bottom.
Earlier tonight I carried on to the Carrier which was parked at Clookuia WT-A d12 and for a while I thought I was going to draw a complete blank on exploration data but at the last minute I jumped into a system with some planets worth 4,500,000 which is what I ended up handing in.
I then worked out that the best place to send the Carrier next was to CLOOKUIA RP-L B22-0, it being on the route the Cutter plotted. It turns out this method is quite handy because if I randomly place The Carl Sagan somewhere 500 ltyrs off I might put somewhere I cannot jump to with Cutters limited range with there being fewer systems now, something I do not want to do!
This image shows the Carrier leaving earlier tonight with the target Nebula to the left . . .
I’ve set off the 28 jumps to the next Carrier jump and about 3-4 jumps in I have surpassed the 2500 mark for systems with my name on. Then the counter stopped going up for a while because despite me being so far out in the Black by heading to this Nebula I must be following a pre-trodden route? Other Cmdrs have been there before!
I’ve found somewhere to mine Tritium again and quickly re-filled the Cutter. Carrying on I’ve stopped at this planet with just 3 jumps left to the Carrier because it looked nice.
Total Carrier jump distance to date since 10th August: 12,500 ltyrs (Personal note: 20 jumps on 13 Sept)
Total Ship jump so far: 32,175 ltyrs
Total planets Level 3 scanned: 10,003
Total exploration data: 300,500,000 credits
Total systems with my name on: 2488
The Cutter is now 12,800
ltyrs away from Sol
Onwards to the CLOOKUIA AA-A H35 Nebula, it still seems along way off yet but it’s getting bigger, see the image!
