CMDR PAUSANIAS - THE SHIP OF THE MIND EXPEDITION - DAY 51
29 Sep 2020Pausanias
Hi Cmdrs,I think the Galaxy is saving itself up for me as not a lot has presented itself to me tonight.
I had a word with my Deck Officer, Matthew Aigner, and we plotted the next jump for The Carl Sagan between us which would continue our journey. This is him here looking at me impressed with the direction I’m suggesting . . .
We eventually agreed the next Jump for the Carrier giving me 27 jumps in which to find something interesting and to mine more Tritium. I was at least half way to the Carrier tonight before I found this planet and ring system with a Tritium hotspot . . .
I flew in closer to the Tritium hotspot and took this shot of the planet with its rocks . . .
Now if there’s one thing I like about mining, apart from blowing rocks to bits, it’s drilling! Here I can be seen drilling away at this rock getting the Tritium chunks out of it.
This final image shows the drama of the whole area, ship, lasers, rocks, planet, atmosphere, what more can incite awe.
I’ve shut the ships main systems off for the evening so I can get some rest ready for tomorrow when I’ll hopefully fill the Cutters hold with Gold, no Tritium.
Total Carrier jump distance since 10th August: 16,000 ltyrs - (Personal note: 30 jumps on 25 Sept)
