A Timely Promotion

It seems I've gone from Renegade Archaeologist to Terrorist Archaeologist. Someone higher up in Congressus Tenebris must have taken notice and pulled some strings with the Pilot's Federation to get my status changed. I suppose it's only fair. I have no reason to dispute it, despite my opinion of the Pilot's Federation's immature need to gamify everything.

I was hoping that, by illustrating the weaknesses in CT's current policy of allowing their own contingent of commanders to sit idly by while their entire domain gently slides down the toilet, they might be inclined to take a more proactive role in the administration of their polity, however it seems their idea of problem solving is to simply send incessant bounty hunters after me, continuing to waste funds which would be better spent addressing the many social and economic disasters spreading like wildfire throughout their systems.

At least the archaeologist side of my title might be getting some acknowledgement soon. I received a message from Dr. Alton Azure, the leader of the small team of adventurers previously under the employ of House LaFey-Silverlight. After my contributions to his employer's success in the Acokwus system, and the acquisition of several large tracts of land, Lord LaFey-Silverlight was able to continue his archaeology program and has had his team exploring worlds previously out of their reach due to the political issues that had existed prior to my involvement. During their most recent dig, Dr. Azure uncovered a piece of an old Shadowstar station, and several data logs stored within. These logs detail the arrangements the members of House Silverlight made with House Vorduli during the civil war, and contain a large amount of historical information about the Fall that was previously unknown. He remembered me from our previous meeting, and my interest in employing his team for operations outside of Acokwus, and wanted to discuss the possibility of working for me after his contract with Silverlight was up.

Of course, I was most eager to discuss this, as I had originally intended to purchase the team myself when I first arrived in Acokwus. Our discussion was fruitful, and it seems I will have use of his team in several months, assuming all goes according to plan with his current project. I do wonder, however, what the nature of that project really is. He was willing to tell me some things, but Lord LaFey-Silverlight did not strike me as much of a history afficionado. While he has an understanding of the history of these systems and his people, he was quick to dismiss my adherence to the old ways, and my campaign of Justice against the corrupt nations who murdered our ancestors. I suppose the answers will elude me for the time being, as I have more important concerns at the moment. But the next time I am able to parley with with Dr. Azure, I intend to persuade him to relinquish more details about his employment, and perhaps shed some light on the truth of what the Silverlights are after on these dusty old rocks.
