Injustice System

There comes a time in every hero's journey where they find themselves at odds with instruments of justice warped by evil to further the cause of injustice. It is necessary in these times to understand the particularities of the system and the context of the intervening forces so that one can avoid complications that would forestall righteous progress. With such understanding comes opportunity, even if only that offered by the lapse in judgment the corrupt allow themselves when they believe they are safe. For instance, consider the Czerno system, where the corrupt administration of Congressus Tenebris has lost much of its influence through the actions of myself and others. Now, rather than address the problems their people are suffering, they hide behind other factions, such as the Noblemen of Czerno, who have taken responsibility for the management of the system, including its security. As I continue to hunt down and destroy corrupt officials in the system, I find they call upon system security, which, despite being run by their rivals, must respond to their distress as directed by their policies. This could be an obstacle for me, but I choose instead to adapt. It is often not necessary to experience resistance on the terms of one's enemies, if one is always looking for opportunities to deal with it on one's own terms. By accepting this state of affairs, and working it into my plans, I foil the attempts of my targets to protect themselves. And so, I eliminated quite a few of them today, enough perhaps that CT's investments into the system may no longer be wasted lining the pockets of their spineless embezzlers. Additionally, as this earned me a bounty with my allies in the Noblemen of Czerno, I paid them a visit after the work was complete and we easily came to a mutually beneficial resolution whereby I have agreed to spend some time at a nearby prison facility helping to educate the inmates with this same wisdom. I held the first seminar tonight and it was a tremendous success. Many of these poor souls were merely acting out against unresolved injustices that had been committed against them long ago, starting them down a path of mistakes and destruction. I believe that I have already helped many of these criminals see a brighter future, one where they can use the talents they have learned in ways that are constructive rather than destructive, or, in the case of some of them, ways to redirect that destruction towards the ultimate liberation of humanity from its distant masters.
I am no stranger to criminals, I have dealt with them frequently most my life, first as a soldier, then moreso as a mercenary. Most of them value my insight, as I have mastered a way of life that embraces activities that are labeled as crimes by the tyrants I battle everyday. It is by my example and the lessons I have to teach that these criminals find a justification for their ways, and are turned from the path of chaos to the path of valor. In time, I think perhaps I may even be able to turn some of them into true freedom fighters. I can only hope that the rest embrace the path of the valorous hero that I have laid out before them, guided by the legends of my ancestors. Of course, I provided each of them with a copy of the heroic legends most applicable to their situation. If even a few read them, I feel I have planted a seed of change that will hopefully inspire legions of heroes to one day roam the stars, as they did in the days of my ancestors. After all, the greatest heroic stories of all time often involve the conflicted hero, who loses his way and falls to the path of evil, but one day sees the error of his ways and embarks upon a great quest of redemption. I am excited at the prospect of someday being able to read such a redemption story, knowing that I had a hand in its creation.
