At Hunziker Terminal in LHS 1163 on 05 December 3310, CSO Victoria Hothis from Azimuth Biotech Experimental Labs (ABEL) delivered a powerful speech emphasizing the survival and ascendancy of mankind during a pivotal conference attended by representatives from all major corporations in the galaxy. Amidst growing tensions and concerns over the Thargoid Titan invading Sol, the conference brought together leaders from companies such as Sirius Corp, Achilles Corp, Core Dynamics, Gutamaya, Lakon Spaceways, and many others to discuss strategic responses to the Thargoid threat. In her opening remarks, Hothis underscored the urgency of the situation. "Today, I stand before you with a singular message: the advancement of humanity is our paramount prerogative. In the face of unprecedented challenges and threats, we must unite in our resolve to secure a future where humanity not only survives but thrives."
With the Sol system under immediate threat from a Thargoid Titan, Hothis highlighted the critical need for unity and decisive action. "Throughout history, humanity has demonstrated remarkable resilience and ingenuity in overcoming adversity. Today, with Earth being attacked, we must tap into that same spirit of determination and innovation. We must be willing to make difficult choices, to endure hardships, and to embrace the collective responsibility of ensuring our survival. But survival alone is not enough! We must aspire to ascend, to elevate ourselves beyond the confines of our current capabilities and limitations. It is imperative that we push the boundaries of science, technology, and understanding. We must strive for excellence in all endeavors, seeking not only to protect our species but to propel it towards new heights of achievement."
Hothis did not mince words when addressing the Thargoid threat. "The Thargoids pose a significant threat to this vision of ascendancy. Their presence endangers our progress and our future. The loss of Earth is a real possibility now because we did not act decisively as one; the Thargoid Titan has attacked it right as I speak to you, putting our very heart, the cradle of mankind, at grave risk. Our mission is clear: to protect, to innovate, and to ensure humanity's supremacy in the face of these extraterrestrial adversaries who understand only one thing: destruction. They will not stop until every last one of us has been reduced to dust. But even as we speak, Azimuth is actively preparing to ensure that mankind can achieve ascension and secure a lasting legacy for future generations."
Hothis concluded her address with a call to action, urging all present to remember that sometimes sacrifices are necessary for a better future. "Let us remember that every sacrifice made is an investment in a better tomorrow for all of us. Let us honor these struggles and sacrifices by building a future worthy of mankind's efforts and the price we pay today while defeating the Thargoid threat. And let us never lose sight of our ultimate goal: a galaxy where mankind stands united, resilient, and ruling supreme. Together, we can secure our survival. Together, we can create a future filled with hope and possibility. Together, we will ascend and assume our rightful role in the cosmos."
The speech was met with a mixed response: some praised Hothis' vision and determination. Others, however, doubted this vision in the face of such a formidable threat that had already claimed countless lives and severely damaged the Federation's economy. At Hunziker Terminal, however, there was mass support, and many people, encouraged by Hothis' speech, flocked to public squares waving banners bearing symbols of well-known anti-Xeno groups as well as Azimuth.
When the press approached Torben Rademaker, CEO of Azimuth Biotech, to ask him for a statement on the sensitive matter of the Proteus Wave, it was Hothis who responded in his stead. "Salvation created a weapon that could have prevented the kind of catastrophe we now see in Sol. Its use did not turn out as many had hoped, but we at Azimuth had a moral obligation to use it to protect humanity. But let us focus less on the past, it is the future that we must now shape for the benefit of all mankind. We therefore ask for the co-operation of other companies, the support of governments and the confidence of the people we serve."
