CCS-94 Day 1

The Hurt Highway, although its probably the biggest advancement in space travel since the High wake, its bloody boring, 25,000ly of pure nothing well a few bright lights here and there called stars, I've never really cared for this exploration lark always been a man of combat although thanks to my pay bump I could afford a lakon space brick, although it doesn't look like anything made in this millennium, Its got a massive jump range and that's something I need while doing this god forsaken mission. Oh yeah I forgot to mention, the whole bloody fleet got mobilised to Colonia, peacekeeping & hearts and minds campaigns are not what I signed on for. Now they got us mining for the run aways. But as ever, I'm happy to be doing my part and getting a massive pay check at the end of it aswell. If one thing keeps me flying for these peace loving idiots its the pay. War aint good for buisness apparently so all the money comes out for us to conduct private wars to stop wars. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but that's why I don't run the place I suppose. I hear Colonia is completely interdependent from the big 3 and has done well to also dodge a large number of corporate entities nabbing the place up. So I'll give it to the hippies, they ain't dumb.
To most of the fleet kitting out there ships to travel this distance has cost a few millions, but I decided to just bring the ASP, thing may be as conformable as sleeping on a park bench during winter but it'll get me there. That's more than can be said for the FDL, plus I actually need to mine or something and the FDL is not built for anything other than killing peps as the salesman said.
But still today's been alright, made 15 Million Credits out of Lu Hub, wasn't worth the broken nose still, bloody Imperials. Spent most of that refitting this asp for duties but now I've got it, the galaxy is literally the limit.
Should be arriving in Colonia tomorrow unless things go really really wrong. Then again I brought a maintenance field along, so things cant go that far south that fast.
Also gotta remember to check in with command see if were still go for operations next week out in the Formidine Rift, most of us got orders asking us to make combat ready by 21st and be in the rifts proximity by the 22nd. Nothing more on that though, probably more patrolling, although this time we're looping all the way back to the pleiades, weird. Last time we were here the most any of us saw was a few explorers and an unmarked imperial vessel. We may have the most boring job in the galaxy but it pays well and one day it won't be so boring.
