Well things were going pretty good for The Aces Wild Aerospace Corporation (ACES), and then we hit a bit of a snag. We never really expected to conquer the galaxy with our operations but we were interested in carving out a bit of the edge of the bubble. Recently we ran into our first bit of resistance...
The snag came as we were in development of HIP 110147 when our operations were attacked by members of The Freelancers Alliance (TFAS). Who came into our system with the battle cry of "Join or Die". Well they didn't give us much chance to respond and several of our commanders were killed outright. We were then told by TFAS that they were going to take HIP 110147 from us and there was nothing we could do about it. They even spammed our communications channels with all kinds of nonsense talk about joining or dying and needing to bow to their queen.
Well we halted operations and did some research on this group. Turns out they are a conglomeration of independent freelance pilots that are beholden to no one but occasionally the loudest warlord among themselves. Who in this case wanted our system we had been in since February. We tried to create an alliance with TFAS but quickly realized that whomever you created an alliance with had no actual authority to to create any binding agreements that any of their pilots would hold to. Essentially they are a horde of leaderless independent space bandits, with the occasional direction pushed by the loudest voice.
We discussed our options and decided we were willing to not be bullied by TFAS and stand our ground even if that meant losing our systems. It is not in us to not put up a fight. And we reached out to some other organizations for help. Turns out TFAS have cause some trouble for other Squadrons and Factions in the Bubble.
So here we are now fighting where and when we can. Trying to hold our systems, and make friends where we can. I guess its a good distraction for us until we can afford one of those new fleet carriers.
The black is dark, and dangerous, and occasionally full of space bandits.
Fly Safe,
