"Spinning Wheels"

Well, i'm still sitting in the docking bay, about to hit my rack for a few hours before getting back at it.Back at what?
Well.. I decided that if i'm to be a truly lucrative trader, that I need some 3rd party resource tools, or rather, some software.
Sounded easy enough, spend a few credits, install it into my ships computer and boom, i'm good to make millions, yea, not so easy..
I spent 6 hours, count 'em, 6 hours trying to get all the programs set up and running correctly. Not that anything about setting them up was difficult, but there were so many options and variables to
sort through to figure out how I would use them to my best advantage, that I was overwhelmed, yet still, I almost finished last night.
I watched a few instruction vids that came with the software and will watch some more when I wake up, so far, i've realized I need another holo screen, maybe two, there's too much info on my
current screens to be efficient to sort through and utilize.
One program is a market app, it's incredibly complex and i'll need some time to get used to it.
Another is probably half useless to me, but none the less amazing! Anything I scan, anywhere I go, is uploaded to a galaxy-wide data base. It's mostly for explorers and, who knows, I might be one at some point, but, it's still pretty nifty and i'll be making use of it.
There is another program which automatically keeps track of.. well.. everything for me, it's almost like a personal assistant, only digital.
I doubt anyone is reading these logs, but, if you are, hopefully i'll have something more exciting for you come tomorrow, for now, it's just program, install, learn, organize, plan, rinse and repeat.
My down time has been spent watching the news, drinking a drink or two in one of the stations bars, but most interestingly of all, reading other commanders journals which are put on the net.
Seems everyone has a story, everyone is lonely, everyone is confused, everyone is scared (Even if they don't directly say so in their logs.) and I guess I find comfort in that, knowing i'm not alone in all of that.
Another great way to pass the time is the radio stations, there are some good ones out there, probably my favorite so far is Lave radio, then there's sidewinder radio and also Hutton Orbital radio, all informative and entertaining as it gets.
Anyway, guess i'll be back tomorrow, hopefully in a new station and with some good creature comforts to keep me busy in the cockpit, like some good whiskey and tobacco.
Commander Bradley out.
