God, I HATE THE BUBBLE!

So, decided to focus a bit on mining Void Opals to get my bank account up, and I finally breached 1 billion credits. Then I was helped by one of our Silverbacks who shared some wing missions loot with me and I was sitting a about 1.3 billion. That's when I decided to take another look at my Corvette, The Ceti Vixen, to see what additional upgrading I should do.
I really shouldn't have done that.
I realized that I still only had the original armour on it--albeit engineered--and discovered there literally is no other armour available for it in Colonia. So, to the Bubble or not to the Bubble? To the Bubble it would be. I prefer to spend as little time there as possible. I decided that, rather than take the Vixen there, I would eat some losses, take the Suicidewinder Express and then buy another Corvette, get the Reactive Composite armour, engineer it and then outfit the thing to make best speed back to Colonia. That meant no weapons, no utilities, light shields, everything else stripped down.
I no sooner dropped into Deciat to get Felicity to do her thing for my FSD, then a Mamba piloted by a Cmdr Dog Steinmann immediately interdicted me and before I could even high-wake out, my shields and FSD were disabled and I found myself floating in the lifepod. In a rather heated exchange later, I discovered that he pretended to be going after gankers, claiming that "they told me you were a ganker". Complete and utter BS. Bottom line, Steinmann is a ganker who delights in going after completely defenseless ships and then lies about the whole thing.
Just one of the many reasons I hate the Bubble.
After swallowing an additional 33mil credits I wasn't planning to spend on this venture, I was back on the road, as they say. It's frustrating that I can't seem to get this thing above 40ly jump range, even after engineering everything--armour included--to be as light as possible. I'm only carrying a repair limpet, an AFMU, a fuel scoop and an SRV as optional items. Maybe it really is the armour that's killing me, but that was my whole reason from coming to the Bubble. Guess I'll just have to suck it up.
I may try a couple of other things to squeeze this hull up over the 40ly threshold. One thing's for sure, once I get back, I'm going to pull all the best parts off the Vixen, put them on this ship and re-designate it as The Ceti Vixen and be done.
While I'm here, I'm very tempted to do two things. One, hit Dav's Hope for some material shopping and, two, hit some warring systems that I stand a reasonable chance of gather a bunch of Core Dynamics salvage. Like I said, tempted. I still have some guardian materials and a set of weapon blueprints that I haven't redeemed yet, but then there really isn't any guardian tech that I need that I don't already have. And, another of my 17 reasons why I love Colonia over the Bubble, there are no Thargoids out where I live.
On a lighter note, as I was searching for a material trader, I came across a super-giant star system. I rarely see those, and they just take your breath away:
