This Isn't Creepy At All

I'm just about to wrap things up in the Core Systems, and needed to go hunting for some more of the harder-to-find materials for engineering when I get back to Colonia. Most people visit Dav's Hope, but as I was heading out, I caught wind of Mayes Chemical Plant. I got the impression it was a much less visited site for materials, so I decided to give it a go. This is what I found:I never like landing on the dark side of new sites. But this went way beyond "not liking". As I lowered my Corvette close to the abandoned plant, the ship's lights panned over the area. The hair on the back of my neck began to rise. I shut off the thrusters and deployed the SRV. I'm sorry, but even at full, there just wasn't enough light from the SRV to shake the creepiness of this site. And when it sunk in seeing the big INRA log emblazoned on the buildings, I understood why. This place was evil.
I spent an hour or so collecting materials, and even though I had the heater turned all the way up in the SRV, the chill stuck with me. I finally couldn't take any more of it, so I got back to the ship and secured it for the night. I normally shut down a number of systems when I'm planetside, including shields. That's a power drain for no reason and unnecessary wear on the systems. But not tonight. I'm keeping the shields up. I have no weapons and no defensive systems installed on this ship, so the shields are the only thing between me and...whatever...while I try to escape if it comes to that.
I need to see if this rock is tidally locked. I still have a bit more gathering to do, and I'd rather do that in the light of day. Seriously.
