The Early Years Part 1.
My life after high school was nothing like I had hoped for, but at least i wasn't back on the Lincoln working as a mechanic. I Spent most of my days either running errands in the "Winer,' what i named the sidewinder i was given by the PF, or hanging out at Trevor's Bar& Grill. After 4 years I realized that this job was going nowhere fast and I could have lived better back on the Lincoln. This infuriated me to no end so I took a part time at Trevor's; now instead of giving my cash to Trevor, he gives some of his to me. Still, it took me way too long to earn enough to upgrade the "Wner" or afford a new ship. September 3301 I bought my first new ship, an Eagle, and starting looking for work as an independent contractor. No more shipyard errands or burgers and fries, nope just doing whatever I could contract from others. Took as many "mission' from the notice board in Trevor's as I could, although most were low paying escort jobs for miner and local traders. Stumbled upon an escort mission that changed everything. Three months into this independent thing I was starring down at my bank notice and trying to make sense of it all; Negative. I was broke. One last tank a fuel and some snacks was the last thing i purchased so off to Trevor's to look for some work when I bumped into a guy in the street and noticed his want ad. I'll take it! I practically screamed at him. Take what he asked and clinched the note in hand. The mission your about to post. "Post,"he laughed, I just accepted this mission.( head dropped ) oh, ok. "Tell you what" he said, I split it with you since it was the last notice on the board. ( Thought to myself, that'll pay squat). "Ok, so when do we start" i mumbled." Meet you at the location here," scribbles on the back of the notice, " about 4 hours from now" he said, as he walked away.Crap, I never got a name or ship designation or anything; guess I'll wing that hen the time comes I arrived early at the location to see not 1 or 2 but more miners that i could count. All of a sudden I get a Comm request, so i accepted it. Was the guy that split the mission with me. "what you call that little thing your in? 'The Bird,"I responded, and followed with " what am I looking at or for?" I'm over your right shoulder starring at you,and you can call me Baron" he replied. ( I looked overmy shoulder) " A FREAKING PYTHON, what are you doing running these little no pay mission in a ship like that?" "Simple" he said, " My buddy posted this notice and will be coming out of here in a Type-9 any moment and as you probably didn't notice but the note doesn't mention any payment for the mission."(I looked at notice again) "Sure don't but it does say there will be payment, so what gives?" " pays based off of what he receives for his cargo. how you think I got this Python way out here in BFN space?" My first big payout of over 100,000 credits!!! Not long after that they invited me to be their regular third wheel and i joined them on more than just mining support. wasn't long before I was operating my own mining vessel aside from "Bird." Decided it was time for an upgrade so I sold the Eagle, and the Adder I had acquired ab ought a Cobra Mk3. Life was good; or at least i thought it was. See I had joined these guys and since they made good money i stopped going to the boards and just ran whatever missions they brought to the table. After a little under a year of good profits we got into lets say a very heated argument which resulted in me relocatting myself to anywhere that wasn't Federation space.
