//ACCESSING SHIPS LOG....STARTING NEW SHIPS LOG

Fuck! Wasn't paying attention and smashed into the side of a canyon while attempting to land. Got distracted doing some research on the rift and didn't see the ground coming up, throttles at full and the ground proximity alarm never went off due to the high speeds. Shields went down upon impact, thank god I'm running higher rated shields than most explorers, however the shields where not enough to protect the hull, down to 32% and already back in the Soul Sector headed to Base Camp. Going to set me back a bit on getting these systems mapped but I'd rather be safe than sorry if i find something hostile out there. Guess for now I will head back to the pub and get something to drink, do some research and head back out, and next time I will make sure to keep my research down while attempting to land.

After getting the hull repaired and doing some more research, I have plotted a route to the end of the Heisenburg bridge, and intend to explore the rift from that starting point. Once there I may set course for deeper into the rift and begin a systematical search of each sector of space in the Rift. Honestly don't expect to find anything of importance, but something may still lay waiting out here. And if there is I want to be the firt to find it.
Been finding lots of unexplored systems and have been mapping out certain planets that I find interesting or that may hold some value. such as earth like worlds, ammonia worlds, and water worlds. As such I am currently sitting in the bottom of a canyon on a world that seems to have a faster than normal rotation period. Also making this moon abnormal is the fact that it is the only body not tidally locked to the gas giant parent nearby. At the bottom of this canyon the light from ship is barely able to make it more than a few meters from their origin, making night vision the only way to navigate appropriately though the treacherous canyons that line the surface. I managed to find a large flat area and decided to take a quick break and perhaps grab something to eat before making my way on the 100 jump journey into the Rift.

I have set down on a planet some distance from it's star, had another mishap when landing, was canyon racing and the rear end clipped a mountain top. The shields failed again but luckily absorbed most of the impact again, leaving me with 64% Hull left. I quickly stabilized myself and started a repair drone to patch my hull. Quickly checking the other systems in my ship i saw that only the FSD was damaged by 5%. I set down and locked down the systems I would need for the night, and set out the repair process for the FSD. Luckily I brought a AFM with me just in case something like this were to happen, however I need to be more careful with my ship if I want to make it through the Rift. I intend to continue on tomorrow and hopefully reach the end of the Heisenberg bridge.
