LOG: Set off from Polo towards the Dryau Awesomes. I'm skipping the suggested POIs in favour of avoiding the routes other CMDRs might be taking, and doing more exploration. No Earthlikes, but a few water worlds, an ammonia world, and a ton of potentially terraformable HMCs, including one without an atmosphere.
I'd heard rumours that planets without an atmosphere could have potential for terraforming, but this was the first time I'd found one, so I decided to take the Springhill down. It's not often you get a chance to be both the person to discover a potentially terraformable planet, *and* be the first one on the surface. I set down near some active sulfur vents, and took the SRV out for a rip. I know what the computer said, but it's hard to believe something that barren could be turned into something habitable.
After doing a little bit of surface mining of nearby to pick up some materials I spotted, I loaded back up into the Springhill and set off into the black again, though this close to the core, it's really not all that black. The stars are so dense, there's almost more light than darkness. I can only imagine what it would be like to stand on the surface of an Earth-like world out here, and look up into a night sky that full of light.
I'm not used to staring into that many stars all the time, and my eyes need a break, so I've set down on a planet in the Eor Aowsy sector.
5000 LY to go the Dryau Awesomes.
