A lot of people ask me, why are you a fuel rat? I tell them because it's the right thing to do. I don't get paid, I don't receive commodities for payment, I do it for the gratitude and happiness of other commanders. Being a rat is more than just money and rank, it's a lifestyle, a passion, and strength. I am a Fuel Rat for the rush of the rescue, the satisfaction of a saved commander. Nobody said it was going to be easy, I've traveled hundreds of light-years, potentially to a trap or a fake rescue. I don't do it for myself, I do it so commanders feel a little less alone in the galaxy.

Sometimes I ponder, "why didn't I join the Federal Navy? They're always looking for pilots". I then reassure myself, that what I do now, Fuel Ratting, is what I want to do, coming by something that you love to do and want to do are very hard in the galaxy, people often find themselves living a life they didn't know they were going to live, or doing something that doesn't seem right in their heart. That's why I didn't join the Navy, I didn't want to follow orders, and rise through the ranks. I didn't want to fight in an age long war that I didn't start, I wanted to be a man freedom and hope. I didn't want to be an elitist warrior, I wanted to be a savior, a person that can be called on for help, not inside a conflict zone. i didn't want to go through years of training and empty servitude to retire and live the rest of my life with a scarred mind and body.

So citizens of the galaxy, I ask you, is what you are doing what you want forever, do you feel stuck between a rock and a hard place? Well if you do, there is always salvation, but no Beluga ride to it. You need to find your personal salvation, your true mission, what you want in your heart. It may take you a long time to find where you belong, same as I, but once you are there, bliss. The galaxy is harsh, there is no "tutorial", there is no hand holding guide to what you want to do. That's the true tragedy of living in the galaxy, it's unforgiving, but you can still find a way to do what you want, but it doesn't happen by doing nothing. We are the backbone of society, we make the galaxy, we are the Galaxy.
Do you like it?
