It took a day longer than I had hoped, but I’ve made it to Gagarin Gate, the second waypoint of my immense trip, and the last waypoint before the first major stopping point at Colonia itself. Once again, nice to get out of the ship and stretch the legs a bit, and definitely nice to be able to walk around in a place with proper gravity, too. The zero gravity of the ship is fun, but sometimes it’s nice to just be able to stand properly on something, feel your own weight. Especially since tomorrow it’s back into the void of space to continue the journey.
I suppose some of the slower than expected progress can be attributed to the growing prevalence of terraformable worlds I’ve found that I’m doing surface scans of. High metal and water worlds, and though not terraformable, even a few of the rare ammonia worlds, including my first ringed ammonia world discovery. Many of them are a long way from the main star of the system, hence a lot of time spent supercruising slowing my progress down. But it also means a lot more credits in cartography data when I reach Colonia, which will be nice considering all the things I’m aiming to do while I’m there.
Still, might as well make this break count. I’m planning on a couple of big days to try and hurry my way to Colonia, see if I can catch up to Cereal and help each other out with the work we want to do in Colonia. Hopefully I’ll get some good sleep tonight.
