It's been cargo run after cargo run for a while now. the Python handles that sort of thing with ease. But as we are an expanding colony out here. We need more raw materials than just about anything else. Just to switch things up I made a couple of quick but valuable cargo runs and then jumped over to Jaques. I had the "Damaged Reputation" configured to go do some mining. It's about time I tried my hand at this important endeavor.
I find it most amusing that you only see what matters to you. For years I have been using the ships GalNet systems for exploration, news, bounties and cargo runs, heck even a little commodities trading. But I have never even looked at the parts pertaining to mining. There is a lot of resources out there that will help this newbie prospector hopefully find a few minerals amongst the rings.
I talk to every mining pilot that comes into the bar just off the hangar deck that I can get to talk to me. I buy a lot of drinks that evening. But with most of the colonist out here that is all it takes for them to help out a fellow Colonia resident. I get the basics, some intermediate stuff and some wild crazy ideas and conspiracy theories. It's sorting and filtering through everything I have been told by a dozen different commanders tonight. When it's boiled down, the things that all of them say in unison, must be the right way to go about it.
I write it all down on my notepad. I realize I will need to reconfigure some of the ships items and then I will make my way out to try this whole mining thing.
Wish me luck.
