It's been a couple weeks since my big trip out to Beagle Point. I gotta say, it still impresses me just how far away I had to go. A lot has changed in the past half year. I never imagined myself exploring across the galaxy, let alone protecting systems in the Empire from pirates. I used to live in Federal space, but ya know, its pretty great out here. I can be free, and helpful. Feeling more like a cowboy than a cog in the hauling business. Nowadays, I make my money by my own hand, not by a paycheck handed to me by some hardhat.
Mirai freed me up to this world, and now, thanks to their help, I've made my own decisions. Of course, in the end, I had to leave them, not because anything bad happened, but because I felt more suited to Heaven's Judgment. Its a complicated story, but the guy that mentored me, Admiral Vizio, felt more like a friend than a strategic ally. Being a spacer has a lot more to it than following orders, and that's why I made the move. Mirai will always hold a special place in my heart, I have a lot of friends there. But I never felt truly free there. Vizio values self drive and applying one's skills to whatever they do best at. In a way, Heaven's Judgment, as organized as it is, runs autonomously, with Vizio less a superior, and more leader with a goal. We all contribute to it, but in ways that draw from our strengths.
I found trade wasn't completely my talent, no, now I work as a scout. Though, if anyone ever found this log, I'd have to blow my own ship up. I've moved up the ranks, and know what lies ahead, and I can't wait to see it happen. We have a long journey ahead of us. But jsut like Beagle Point, with enough patience, we'll be there.
I guess I've gone on another sentimental tangent. Ha, how silly of me. Forgive a small minded fool like me.
What I mean to say is, I think I've found a place I can call home again. Mirai broke me into that world, but now I have my true place. Not as a trader, but a scout and explorer with a few pirate gangs smashed under my belt.
What a trip its been, and now, I feel more ambitious than ever! I've already talked to a few other cowboys in the lounge, and rumors of new expeditions lay on the horizon. I found the biggest hub in known space for them, the very same that set out on the grand Distant Worlds expeditions.
Fleetcom is unbelievably huge.
I've enlisted in a great expedition to celebrate space exploration itself. I am talking of course, about the first time humanity landed on another world...the Apollo 11 Moon Landing. Over 1300 years ago we started our venture into the stars. Gonna be a good first trip with others.
But what I'm really pumped for is the Pegasus Run, which will take me back to Beagle Point via circumnavigating the galaxy. Old Ningenha won't be resting too long!
All I can say from here is this.
Bring it on, galaxy, CMDR Sparks is here!
