On the low range, Orang 2, Orang System
Warming rays of sunlight spread across the landscape. Soft smoke wisps skyward, telling of the last glowing embers; the remnants of last nights campfire. The saddle blanket I slept upon; warmed nicely for my horses back. I would wait for him to finish eating the bag of oats I had given him this morning.
Leaning back on the saddle, I reached into a saddle-bag to pull out a protein snack bar, and my data tablet.
I did not expect any firm information this soon, and would not entertain looking for it. That breaded anticipation, which begets impatience, making one rush into things. What I did need however was to place an order, for my ship of choice to be prepared, along with the addition of specific modules, packaged and ready for transport.
There was an ancient and wise saying, about not putting all ones' eggs in a basket. Hence my ships, and their modules, were parked at various stations, in numerous systems. Though this could present the challenge of not having everything immediately at-hand, it did offer security, and comfort in knowing that should any one place, or group of places fall, all was not lost.
Placing everything back into the saddle bag, I rose to my feet; picking up the blanket and saddle from the ground. A muffled beep was heard, as I placed the blanket on my horses back. "Sounds like we have our order confirmation." My stead simply stood still, waiting for the saddle and bridle.
