SakashiroDeposits in color-coded terrain wouldn't be a bad thing. Need sulphur? Look out for pink mountains!

I always found the RNG-based distribution in Horizons slightly annoying. It was such a time sink.

Whatever they do, I just want it to be consistent and make sense. I know that's asking a lot...

It is very consistent in Horizons - you go to Crystalline Shards and after 20 min in srv you have highest grade maxed. In Odyssey you need to use heat map and when you land the features are scattered miles away.

Same with geological sites and so on. Horizon's sites always have 3-5 needle crystals that will drop best grade.

Yes, Horizons was way better for Raw Materials. Lucky for me I don't really need any more. I only ever found grade 1 in Odyssey. I just use Anaconda crash sites if I need any, and even those are not as efficient now.

What I do not understand is why the Odyssey surface POIs have racks with maglock which drop raw mats that needs to be scooped with SRV.

I like the fact that space legs haven't made SRVs redundant. High gravity, too hot, too cold... SRVs are still required. Otherwise no one would equip them any more. No one would waste 6t on a vehicle hangar.

I always disliked that everyone would go to the same places for mats. Crystal shards, Dav's Hope, Jameson's crash site. So boring.

And it makes sense that raw mats are associated with terrain features. Just like minerals are with rings and hotspots.

Horizons was supposed to do that with craters/mountains/canyons/ridges and whatnot. I never looked though.

I would just like to be able to get materials through normal gameplay. I don't expect things to just be handed out like candy, but the options seem to be "do something you like" OR "grind for stuff". There is not much overlap that I can tell. You need to go out of your way to get most anything above grade 3. If you only have a few ships its not too bad but when you have many ships, it gets to be tedious. Going to the same places for mats over and over again is incredibly boring, but it is really the only viable way for anyone with a life outside of this game. I bet FDev has nice looking spreadsheets though.

People went to those sites because they had somewhat concentrated mats. How Odyssey fix that? Instead of distributing more concentrated stuff it completely removes such hotspots and make you drive SRV for hours.

Dear, have you been on a surface of a planet in Odyssey? There is a reason people started to call this DLC with the name "The Great Flattening"

EpisparhArtie, can you tell if someone here on Inara have found smear campaign plans?
Apparently, Frontier claim that they are in game and not bugged, yet no one know where to look for them.
I am not sure what type of material is that.

Nobody at the moment. If they are very rare and are in the game as Frontier claims, it will be best when they will simply tell where to find them to help players before the more general balance pass. Maybe there is a very specific combination of a settlement type and a rarely happening minor faction state required or so, thus why nobody discovered it yet.

I found a single 1 of those smear campaigns, it was I believe at a tourist center, where I killed everyone for the cat videos, didn't bother to look further, if this is not true and I remember it incorrect, I can only tell you that I've been at irregular markers 2/3, crash sides threat 2/3 and nav beacons, "nothing" else, but mostly settlements, and I've to look where my rep changed, there is a tracker in inara.

No idea how to go further back than to the 12 Jun 2021, 7:47pm.. guess it was some days before, max 12 days back from today

Ahh yes, memories of family holidays as a kid. Good times.

If those drop at touristic settlements the drop rate should be extreme rare (Kind of what Zak said in last stream) as those are literally raided from everyone to get Opinion Polls. I certainly dried at least a hundred.

I bought an eagle to unlock the settlement defence plans faster, didn't find a single irregular 3 until someone texted me about it, so that was after I've collected all those videos at the tourist center I believe

06 Jun 2021 Bought ship Eagle Mk II
02 JUN 2021 Engineer access: Hero Ferrari Invited

Can you give me also the systems you've been during that period. You can take those from your flight log.

flight log, it was

"LHS 278 - LHS 278 1"
