Thank you, all of you, for such detailed advice. I really appreciate it. I'm happy to be able to ask questions about any aspect of the game and get great responses about the topic, even if sometimes opinions differ.

It sounds like, overall, the consistent advice was summed up well by Vasil Vasilescu:
Vasil Vasilescuspeed is life

I also noted the tips on how I should alter my process when pulled out of hyper.

Here's an updated EDSY plan for my Beluga. I focused on Power Distro and Engines, as suggested. Speed is now 305 with a boost to 427. I also tried to keep heat management in mind, so I made some adjustments elsewhere in the plan to keep things relatively cool despite the change to Dirty+Drag.

Obviously, I'm going to stick with the Beluga for this. With a capacity of 168, a loss of a dozen passengers is only 7%; which I think makes even a bad run worth it. (It might seem callous, if the in-game civilian lives lost were real, but they're not so I think playing the revenue game makes sense here.)

I usually still try to prevent the losses if at all possible, roleplay and all. Scythes might have around the same top speed as a Basilisk or close to (Basi is 530 m/s) but they don't appear to have the ability to perma-boost unlike all other Thargoid ships, so they occasionally bleed off some speed. Yes, it's not terribly realistic but those are the gameplay concessions which Frontier has made.

Heat isn't as important for Hunter-class ships though, as they will always remain largely accurate regardless of your heat level, and if you're boosting around you will inevitably slip over the 20% heat threshold where most Thargoids do their things like launching missiles, so a heatsink can prove useful even with a low emissions plant. Should be lucky that they chose to remove the Glaives with their 750 top speed from being able to inter- and hyperdict to invasions when Titan assaults began, so you only now see them in AX conflict zones (planetary and large starports, plus high intensity and up in open space), those could be a much bigger pain to avoid.

Academic of course as alerts will never spawn any Glaives under any circumstance, only the Scythes will attempt a single hyperdiction*.

*They [Scythes] also used to interdict anybody holding any type of human cargo up to like, a 60-70 light year range from a Titan if memory serves, even if it was not an evacuation run from an affected system. They quickly and quietly removed that one, however.

Rayman, activate the button at the bottom right: View in Maps. This usually shows where you have to go to complete missions, sell goods or exploration data, etc.
The aforementioned also applies to picking up program data, contracts, etc. They cannot be picked up everywhere.

Well, it doesnt really help much and sold that data here where it says hand in carto data.

Maybe they meant scanning planets with surface scanner then sell it?

Passenger evacuation missions are now where the money and other rewards are. Found some scouts at Saturn, Neptune and some small dwarf planet in the outermost system and consider the weapon parts they spawn when blown up the best rewards (used in ax-ammo synthesis). 11 scouts and 5 sets of weapon parts.

It would be worth trying to scan the planets with the surface scanner. But I don't think that's what it means. Completely scanning planets in an undiscovered system is quite time-consuming. By the way, there are more credits for the complete scan of planets than for the newly discovered system. I joined the Force with Aisling Duval. I haven't had these missions yet. My missions are constantly scanning ship uplinks from mega ships. There are at least three missions of that this week. Very time consuming.

greetings commanders,
I am just a simple explorer and merchant in my spare time (in order to finance my explorations) and I wish to help the SOL system of the Thargoids invasion which is coming...
When I evacuate injured personnel or civils when I jump into another system I systematically get intercepted and find myself facing these strange things which quickly melt my pile of scrap metal...
I put on a big shield, a lot of shield boosters to escape and take these little people to their destination but given that there are deaths I end up with fines everywhere...
how to counter this interception please?

o7 Cmdr! We talked about this just a few posts below this one.
1. SPEED: your ship needs to be fast, boost speeds of preferably 500m/s or more (incl. a charge enhanced super conduit power distro to continuously boost)
2. ECM: have an ECM equipped and make a keybind for it. This can neuter Thargoid missiles
3. Heat Sink: pop them in order to get your heat down and make Thargoids loose target lock

While 2 and 3 are not always guaranteed to work, the combination might help. But 1 is imperative: boost boost boost like your life depends on it (because it does).
