Have fun.

Sol AX combat in open mode is now very dangerous. A lot of gankers are out there right now.

YOU WANT OUR PLANET? COME AND TAKE IT YOU SCHMUCKS!

... though Frontier probably have a two week gap to cover while Cocijo takes its leisurely stroll through our space so maybe they'd turn on an invasion in Sol anyway and only have the "alert" to actually provide players to participate in the evacuation effort, rather than just have it be a piece of text in GalNet. Could you even move 22 billion people in a week?
Remaining doubtful about the actual chances which Sol has at survival. Even if certain people are equally adamant that the Titan will be destroyed there despite a few signs that it might have a better than small chance at surviving and causing further terror elsewhere.

Kasumi GotoCould you even move 22 billion people in a week?A week is 7 days, or 168 hours, or 10080 minutes, or 604800 seconds. That's quite simple.
Population of Sol is 22.78 billion according to the game data. Since Sol is the capital system of the Federation, with the Federation being the sci-fi space version of the US, it should also have 12/333*22.78 = 0.82bn illegal immigrants. Or let's say 2 bn because some of them might be reluctant to show up for the census.
Then I'd like to add, to say, 5 more billion for non-residents who work there, tourists, etc., and to have some reserve in capacity too.
22.78 + 2 + 5 = 29.78 or let's just round it up to 30 billion people. 30 billion people in 604800 seconds. 49603 per second.
The average density of a human body is 985 kg/m3, average human weight is 80kg for modern day North America, so let's say 90kg for the Feds. Influence of smaller people and children on that number should be sufficiently compensated anyway.
We need a pipe. A really big pipe to stuff those people into and move them. A pipe that is capable of moving 4.5 megatonnes of humans per second.

Kasumi GotoProviding the people insisting on the evacuations (could you call them the boredom brigade in this case? maybe ...) don't end up taking out this alert, which has had a few zeroes added to its back end but still seems like it could be borderline possible with enough of an effort thrown at it.

Go to Sol, pic up the passengers and jump to the destination. You will be attacked and your passengers taken.
Been there, done that.

Also trying to fill up passengers from another station caused the local cops to fire at me because I had illegal passengers onboard. Nice.

Rayman.I moved away from sol. Its so boring atm, give us invasion already. Im not interested evacuatign refugess and only did for inara medals thing
You can get AX bounty missions at all/most Sol stations, FYI. (e.g. Kill # Scouts, Kill # Interceptors, etc.) I chose to do Evac, just to give it a try, but I considered taking the AX combat missions instead because I enjoy them. (Questions about Evac to follow shortly....)

(Answer any/all that you might know. Maybe there are some better references I can read/watch somewhere?)
- Seems like the gameplay is such that there's always a Tharg interdiction with the first jump. Correct? (Some videos say something like that too.)
- If so for the above, then: It's about being prepared for that eventuality, not something that I can avoid. Correct?
- I tried without ECM... and lost passengers, but got away. I tried with two ECM... and lost passengers... even though I successfully deployed ECM continuously. Should I "git gud" with ECM? Or just ditch them and let the loss happen?
- I thought the technique was: drop out of interdiction, fire off a heatsink, boost toward jump target, ready on ECM, heatsink/boost as needed, fire ECM(s) as needed, jump ASAP. However, the Thargoids are on me relentlessly, even with boosting 350-400. What am I doing wrong?
- If the Thargoids are just going to strip my shields away anyway, why shouldn't I just throw another 5E cabin in that slot?
- Fines are meh. It's annoying to have to figure out how to pay them, so I can get more missions. Any advice on how to manage this or "just deal"?
- Wanted passengers are alright as a game mechanic, but it does seem silly to penalize players for evac of humans, regardless of whether they're criminals. (Even the citizens of Gotham evac'd criminals....) Anyway, I just treat it as if smuggling and fire heatsinks and stay ready on silent running. Is that right?
- Any other tips for a good Evac run? I quite like the story/feeling of helping like this.
If you want to double-check my Evac ship, here's the Inara link to my "Evacutacean". (Based on the PTN Evaculuga.)

On shields or not, I can't say anything, never been without shields in tharg territory. Recommended shield is a bi-weave. Some indeed use the slot for additional hull or module reinforcement.
