Weapon damage types

There are three primary damage types: physical (ballistic), energy (laser), and electromagnetic (EM). Particle beam weapons are a unique case, as they combine both physical and energy damage. While a target's armor resistance can mitigate a specific damage type, it usually doesn't matter that much, so you can pick any tool of destruction you prefer.
Damage typeDescription
PhysicalBallistic weapons inflict physical damage similarly to conventional firearms and offer good flexibility through modding. The effective range of such guns can vary from short-range guns like pistols or shotguns to medium and long-range rifles. The only potential disadvantage may be the relatively high ammo consumption for fully automatic guns.
EnergyLaser weapons inflict energy-based damage by emitting high-voltage laser beams. They usually provide a better range than their ballistic counterparts, solid damage, and pretty good ammo efficiency.
ElectromagneticEM weapons operate on a fundamentally different principle compared to other guns. They are designed as a non-lethal option for stunning enemies.

Weapon tiers and rarity

The weapons can be found and bought on various quality tiers, depending on the player's level. Higher-tier weapons are more powerful (bigger damage) and valuable (in credits).

You can determine the quality tier by the prefixes listed below, though it's important to note that the exact levels can vary between different weapons. Please see the individual weapons for the details.

The weapons can drop in any rarity. The rarity of a weapon doesn't directly impact its statistics, but it does determine the number of attached legendary effects/traits providing various benefits like increased damage, explosive or incendiary rounds, bigger magazine capacity, and similar.

A higher rarity provides more effects on it, up to three effects at once, as shown in the table below.
