Victory, time to celebrate but in truth, I don't feel much like celebrating
I guess I'm a little disappointed I had expected the Bahpu Citizens Confederacy to put up more of a fight but we swept aside their forces in only 6 days,
Where is the honor? The Glory? We might as well of been fighting against farmers and factory workers as easily as we defeated them. It is a Victory but it somehow feels....hollow
With Roberts Enterprise secured and the addition of Thomes Holdings Space Station Radiant Inc is effectively in control of the system my job is to make sure they stay in control
Squadron Commander Vizio has Deployed on some Clandestine classified mission along with one of my 2 wingmen for Sigma Wing and my other wingman is on personal leave so, it falls on me alone to ensure Radiant Inc maintains their control in Bahpu
Guess I'm a wing of one, for now, I said to Vizio
Don't worry about it he replied you do the work of 6 pilots
I'm good I responded but I doubt very seriously I can make up for 6 pilots
Youll be fine he replied with a chuckle, Operational command in Bahpu is yours
with that Commander Vizio and Commander, Ace boarded their respective ships and set off on their secret mission, Fortunately, I have allies that are all too eager to help from MIRIA Squadron and of course the Mysterious Enigma Sir Lamorak, The Mira Squadron members I get Lamorak, on the other hand, remains a mystery I have never seen someone use a Cobra MK3 so damn effectively even in my Anaconda id avoid direct conflict with the man and that's even after my squadron leaders claim that I'm equal to six pilots I'm a warrior through and through but this man, he's something straight out of the 9 hells, I'm just glad he's on our side.
over the next couple of days, the majority of our Squadron will be down for repairs or running to engineers to get their modules upgraded as I have begun doing I am taking an expeditionary wing to all the Guardian sites that we have mapped so that we can gain guardian tech (I'm most interested in shields) then its back to Bahpu to initiate phase 2 of the operation, solidifying Radiants hold they should be able to hold out a couple of days while I run the expeditions. Ive ordered any pilots joining the expedition to strip down their ships as much as possible taking only a max of 3 lasers for weapons and equipping at least 2 SRV and a reasonably lg fuel scoop all other equipment not needed for ship operations is to be placed in storage to maximize jump distance I just hope we don't encounter any opposition out there in the black personally I wouldn't mind having a few more teeth going that far out of the bubble but I'm assured we won't need it and because I need to initiate Phase 2 in Bahpu Time is of the essence. I estimate Iby stripping down my anaconda I should be able to double my jump range but even with the increased range its still probably gonna be 40 -50 jumps to hit all the sites, the tech trader and return to Roberts but I guess a good Pilot has to do whatever he has to do to protect his ship and a good wing leader/acting squadron leader has to do what he can to ensure the Squadrons ready for any contingency. (in this case possible thargoid incursions. as this species seems to be pushing further and further into inhabited space and honestly I'm not sure their the only threat with the distant worlds 2 expedition going on who knows what those brave men and women may encounter. It will make history that's for certain.
Anyway, enough rambling I've got an early parole tomorrow before heading out to farseer inc. and I need rest.
